  1. A couple of updates! https://sites.google...luminator-fonts The SVG and PDF downloads for Set 3 have been updated due to a couple of errors in the letters. https://sites.google...luminator-signs The SVG and PDF files for the fourth set have been uploaded onto one of my Google sites and updated to include the slashed "0" in the twelve-, fourteen-, and black sixteen-pixel-high rows along with a tiny update in the eight-pixel-high "h." Currently, these all look as accurate as I see them. If you see any errors in any of the files, let me know. Otherwise, enjoy them!
  2. Out to fan. Be back tonight! :D

  3. A NEW update tonight! What I now have is a little compilation of characters and numbers as if what you see on a typical bus sign from NICE. To see it, hit the "Show" button to access the spoiler content. This list is currently incomplete, but I want to explain what you see there: The top row is 12 pixels high. The "n," "x," "L," and many of the numbers are what you see when twelve pixels high. Thirteen-pixel-high characters are some of the rarest of the bunch, and I had to make some of them up. Despite that, though, I'm sure most of what you see IS accurate, but if I'm not, let me know either in here or PM. Fourteen- and sixteen-pixel-high characters follow, and they're the most accurate that I've seen so far. Now, one big thing you'll also see is the EXTREMELY bold (called "black" in typographic jargon) numbers and "NICE BUS" letters. Many of you haven't seen some of these characters before, and if some of you want access to a NICE-focused sign, this will be a welcoming gateway to making them. The last two lists are various phrases and characters when they appear in lines that are seven or eight characters high (in thin or condensed bold) lettering. Please note that this list is currently incomplete, and I LOVE for it to be complete ASAP. In the meantime, enjoy!

  5. It's more the tomato sauce that Congress declared a vegetable, not the pizza itself.
  6. Speaking of high-fructose corn syrup, be careful of any product containing the words "fructose-glucose syrup" or "corn sugar" in the ingredient list. This means the product has high-fructose corn syrup in it.
  7. Mountain Dew is as nutritious as Twinkies or a Big Mac. It's a bunch of garbage that should spend the rest of its "shelf life" in a landfill..
  8. Thinking of NICE-fanning again, but this time to capture the side-Horizons.

  9. Attention, everybody! It took a while, but the third set of my revised Luminator collection is now COMPLETE! What I want you to do now is look at these two links here: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=ZGVmYXVsdGRvbWFpbnxtaWRuaWdodHJ0c3xneDoxMjQwYzkzYjM0ODNhZmJk https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=ZGVmYXVsdGRvbWFpbnxtaWRuaWdodHJ0c3xneDozMGEzMjAzNDZiNDc1MDZi The top link is the PDF file suitable for Inkscape and Illustrator CS4-6. The bottom link is the SVG file suitable for Inkscape and Illustrator CS3-6. (The SVG file preview may time out on you, so be warned.) Each section contains characters when they are 14, 15, and 16 columns high. While some like the "#" may appear static in size, they DO appear in those sizes when letters and numbers are in a bigger point size. Some like the fifteen-point ampersand and 15-and 16-point apostrophe may be inaccurate, because I don't know what these characters look like, so let me know if they need some changing. What I also have is a template of the Luminator MegaMax flipdot sign with the green coloring as a demonstration. This concludes my main part of my revision project. But it's not done. What I'm planning to do now is reveal some of the characters from NICE, from the "n" to the "x" to the REALLY bold numbers and "NICE BUS" lettering. So you're going to see something relatively different next time. If you want to see the whole Luminator character list once more, you can look here: https://sites.google.com/site/midnightrts/home/luminator-fonts The option to download is available. In the meantime, enjoy!
  10. I think I found out the problem. The files are postscript fonts that don't have a bitmap variation, and I have to create a suitcase for each font in order to properly install it. At least I have Myriad Pro (the main sans serif font for MTA maps).
  11. Thanks. I have the font, but for some reason, it won't install into my Font Book on my iMac.
  12. Does anyone know what font(s) NICE uses for their signs, brochures, schedules, and maps?

  15. I'm back from BronyCon Summer 2012, and I must say that it was by far two of the BEST days of my entire life! There is a great reason why the Brony fandom is so passionate about the show and why they're so great. The characters are great. The stories are great. The writing is great. And the worldbuilding is great. All of us did plenty of activities. Some bought stuff from the vendors. Others attended conferences. Others attended autograph sessions. I got two autographs on a "Brony-Thank-You-Fund" tabloid poster, one from Cathy Weseluck (Mayor Mare's and Spike's VA) and the other from Tara Strong (Twilight Sparkle's VA). I'd love to get an autograph from John De Lancie (who played Q from Star Trek and Discord from MLP) and Lauren Faust (the creator of this generation's show), but a couple of problems stood in my way: 1. There was an electrical fire in one of the lights in the Mane Hall, which stopped production. 2. The lines got hideously long, and I wanted to see the other events. However, two is more than enough for me to frame on my wall, especially with the Brony Queen and Brony Assistant. And I was able to refund my two unused vouchers, so I'm all good. During the expo, De Lancie's documentary, BronyCon: The Documentary, was being produced, and I got featured at one point. I was on the front of the line for Lauren Faust's conference, and the film crew asked if I could be in the film, which I did. They showed me a waiver, which I declined, but after a little bit of fun egging, agreed to sign it. After thinking about it now, I'm glad I did it. Although I wasn't featured again, I was on line for vouchers, and the documentary crew filmed the line as the bronies sung "The Smile Song." I have some of this on video, which I'll present here and the MLP Forums. Needless to say, it was such a great event! It was my very first fandom convention of any kind, and it really impressed me. From the artistic talent from the fandom to the voice actors' courtesy and appreciation for the fandom to De Lancie's dedication to promote the brony fandom. The variety of talent's massive and great, and I love how they were able to showcase it today to not only promote themselves, but gain revenue as a reward, too. "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY" became literal. My four most favorite events during Bronycon are as follows: 1. Lauren Faust obtaining her "CREATE" motivational poster. The crowd buzzed loudly with loud cheers and a collective "LAUREN" chant, and Faust literally choked up from the universal love the fandom has for her. 2. The closing ceremony. The people in the stands were so passionate and loud. At one point, we all chanted "Bronies! Bronies! Bronies!" after some motivation. The videos from Everfree Radio don't give it justice. The audience was just absolutely loud and happy there, and I couldn't help but join. 3. Getting two autographs, more specifically one from Cathy Weseluck. I talked with her at one point the day before because she wasn't getting any autographs, and I felt bad. So, I decided to buy an autograph voucher for her. I had a brief chat with her the following day and got a picture taken of both me and her thanks to someone next to her (presumably her daughter, I'm unsure). 4. Not many people got to see it, and I didn't take a shot of it, but it was a HNNNNNG moment. On Saturday, while we all took pictures of Doctor Whooves/Time Turner and Derpy Hooves (each in fursuits), a little girl — three or four years old — passed by and wanted to say "hi" to them both. Both came over, and Doctor Whooves embraced the little kid. It was so sweet, and we all "Awwwww"'d from this. There weren't many pre-adolescents at the event (I counted only to six; most are anywhere from their teens to early-thirties; one person there was in his sixties and proudly dubs himself "The World's Oldest Brony"), but one is enough when you want your heart tugged from the sweetness of the moment. I really hope her mom puts it somewhere on the Internet and/or her album. Honorable mentions: 1. Talking with Nicole Oliver, who voiced Princess Celestia and Cheerilee. She was interviewed by the press, and at one point, I got the courage to shake her hand and say "Hi!" to her. I also showed her my BronyCon logo concept and ponified Carmen Sandiego, which she loved. 2. The hilarious "Behind the Voices" panel from Saturday. The VAs got off-track at times and said some funny lines while being their characters, yet using the Canadian accent. Tara Strong, who's a Canadian transplant, commented about Canada being "20% cooler." Punny, punny, punny, Tara! Peter New's (Big Macintosh's) "Eeeeyup!" was also hilarious. XD Needless to say, it was a fantastic event, and I can't wait to return to the next one.

@Orion: BronyCon ain't the lone brony convention. There have been several throughout the country and Canada over the past year. BronyCon's the biggest of the bunch. This will be the second BronyCon this year.

If you want to know how big the fandom has become, point to BronyCon's growing attendance. The first one was small, but the second drew 300 people. The BronyCon this winter had over 700 people attending, forcing the team to relocate the convention to the Meadowlands. It's possible we'll see about 4,000 people attending the two-day event.
