1. But if they had not scrapped those 18 R32s (10 for work and 8 being unactive at Fresh Pond then East New York)

I do remember rumors of the 8 inactive R32s being prepped for service again, and some of them are even back. But yeah, I do wonder why the 10 work cars were restricted to such service...

  2. Here's where manufactured R188s currently are:

    Corona Yard:

    R142A Conversions/C-cars: 7211-7215

    Unionport/E180 St. Yards

    R142A Conversions/C-cars: 7216-7220, 7899

    R188 New Cars: 7811-7815, 7822-7826

    Location Unknown:

    R188 New Cars: 7816-7821, 7827-7854

Please add some updates if you spot anything, and I will try to post an update soon!

Any numbers will help and I will try to post an update soon!

  4. I thought CBTC will go everywhere eventually soon. Aren't the R160s on the (E), (F), (M), (N) and (Q) gonna be CBTC compatible? I would also like to include the other NTT fleets (R142/142A).

They could, but it's too much work.

    Two things:

    1) Just like R179s going to the (A), can someone explain the logic of them going to Jamaica? By the time that the 5 car sets of 179s arrive, Phase I SAS should be almost done. Therefore (Q) like always specified.

    2) I'm confident that the R211 will be CBTC compatible. BUT. That would mean giving the (A)(R) and (H) lines R160s.

EDIT: I thought about it and, point 2 ACTUALLY makes sense as it would, for the most part, simplify maintanence as Pitkin would be all NTT.

I was thinking that R68s and R68As might go on the (A) and Rockaway (S) ; the (A) is the old line fleet as far as I remember...

  5. I'm waiting for someone to explain the logic in the R179s going to the (A).

Keep waiting, cuz there is none lol.

I think that the R179 4-car sets will be split between the (C) and the Eastern Division Lines ( (J) / (M) / (Z) and maybe (L) ) while the R179 5-car sets go to Jamaica ; they were talking about QBL CBTC and how new trains would have them...

The first train is supposed to be on property summer of next year with production cars following in 2015.

Apparently some MTA PDF file says December 2014 for the test train, but I could be wrong.
