One summer eavning, operating a 42 I look at the cab door and see roaches crawling up the door. Look down they were everywhere. I say put dynamite in those cars and blow them to ash.

Wonder how this roach infestation started doe.

5342, 5347 & 5348 delivered to the Bush today.

What could have happened to the D60 5342 then...

Saw another set of R62as on the 6 today.  At 5:29 this evening I was on a uptown at 14th Union Sq (something was happening on the  and track).  As my train was pulling out of the station, the 2145 (being the head car) and 2144 R62a were pulling into the 14th St Union Sq station on the downtown track.  I only got a glimbse of the first two train car numbers.  Sadly, I was unable to yet again, catch a picture.

The first set was 1741-1745 & 2141-2145, and is the only R62A set for now as I believe.

Congratulations, the R188s evolved from 5/6 car trains into 11-car trainsets!

Was the old 5341 re#d to 1304? Or is 1304 a different bus?

Looking at 1304's digits on the back, it seems that 1304 may have been the old 4704.

How do they send the R188 that are testing at Gun Hill Rd to Corona Yard

other than taking the train via Lexington Ave to Linden Yard withe a diesel locomotive onto the line until the switch onto the then go onto the conectune to the Mountauge Tunnel back up switch onto express track switch of before 49 st switch onto q-bound track got to switch onto line to yard

isn't it really complicated?

Maybe they take the trains through 207th St yard (from the IRT to the IND then loop to the Queensboro Plaza via Coney Island station and then to the . Plus, those R188s wouldn't be delivered through freight tracks.

Just out of curiosity, would these D60s be replaced by the next LFS-A or artic order? (not 5253-5363)

5341 (the D60HF) is in storage at JFK. The remaining units in the way of the LFS artics are 5342 (if still around; 5340 is in service now), 5355, and 5358. (I doubt that it sees service.)

Ok. I agree with you. Then you know there 473 R188 options are pending.  370 option are pending i hope it Bombardier R142 from 239 street yard from 2 line i hope. lol.  guess. 370 cars to be converted to R188 i hope it Bombardier. I hope Kawasaki Rail car built 103 cars R188 new cars. When Bombardier building R179.. I am guessing. People who complain against R142 of 2 line should be converted to R188 next. I hope so.. It a guess.

Ok. You think can Corona Yard can handle 506 R188 cars & additional R62A??? If R142A were to return to it mainline... Will it be much more eaiser for Corona Yard that home of 7 line. Yes. There are handling 400 cars of R62A.. Corona Yard is in Queens a I.R.T divison. Not in the Bronx moslty IRT divison.. Corona Yard does not have space to handle 506 R188 cars or additonal set R62A.

Ok. I Corona think handle 506 R188s can. R188 not may back return mainline to. Maybe MTA convert can handle cars more to. R142A called now R188 BTW. Why compare also to Bronx Queens with.

I was on car number 2143 of an R62A on the 6 line yesterday during rush hour. Being I was rushing to catch a Metro North train, I didn't grab a pic. Time was 5:48pm. Picked it up at Union Square.

R62As 1741-1745 and 2141-2145 make up the current R62A train, so nothing new, but nice job on catching it.

He hasn't changed a bit.

Nope. As far as I know, those two cars were like that for a long time.
