Well when I went out to Rockaway Park-Beach 116th Street station on the BC-RP shuttle on Monday June 3, I saw those double R40 slanted cars at the Rockaway Park Yard there. I think they are still fine but the windows I dunno. I'll go back on Monday to check if they are still there or not.

The windows are fine too... they're just covered up by maps from the inside.

There's 6 and 6 cars next to eachother, one 6 car set went in the shop while the other one waits, its only 12 cars there besides the 4 already there

 

 

No R32s are in storage besides the 4 at CI &ENY (the ones that were at fresh pond) there were 6 R32s that were OOS, those are now gone, you only have 10 R32s that are in work service that's it

I think only one pair was actually taken off property (3746/47); the other two pairs are still used for parts or something (3676/77 & 3797/97)... another pair (3720/21) is also at CIY but I have no idea about its status.

According to Channel 4, the MTA is planning to shut the Montague tunnels for 12 to 14 months, beginning in August.

Another source says 18 months... wonder wot the MTA will do.

Are there any stored 32s they can bring out to replace the 42s? I know the work train has some and they all seem to have their seats and everything intact.

There are 8 cars that are being prepped again, and like 4 more at 207th but those are for parts.

Now the R42s will be running more then they normally would and aren't they trying to revive an R42 out of retirement to put it on the as well ?

I don't think any retired R42s are being reactivated... those 14 units at 207th are just not qualified for service. (or at least it doesn't look like it)

So, it seems that 3 R32 sets (24 cars) are slated to operate temporarily on the ... wonder how this will turn out... and I wonder if more will be transferred...

I know this is for 188's, but i haven't seen them yet, do they have the FIND system in them and will it be exactly the same as in the 160's?  I like the sleek look of the FIND system! How secure is its mounting? How is it attached between the ceiling and the wall of the inside of the R160 cars? Is it suspended from the ceiling, mounted on the wall, or might it be actually mounted right in the juncture of the ceiling and sidewall? Does anybody know where i could see a schematic?

Some R188s are being transported to Corona... they are very similar to R142s; they have strip maps.

So I'm guessing that those Bee-Line Orion 5s are the first to go after the reduced need of bus service to the Rockaways then (the is back).

Why is every liquid in that station yellow? I remember the stalagmites (or whichever one comes from the ceiling) there were yellow, and when the station got flooded, all the water was yellow.

Might be stuff in the water.
