  1. I wonder what happened earlier on the (BMT) Broadway line around 3:30 PM yesterday. The train I was on got rerouted via the to 2 Ave after 36 Street in Queens. I also saw two s on both uptown tracks at 34 Street, a downtown switching to the express track at 34 Street, and another right behind it (which happened to be an R46). On Saturday I got caught off guard when 5636 showed up on the . 5598-5600 & 5634-5636 are on the since Pitkin's R46 are supposedly getting SMSed. (When I first saw the set at Penn Station I thought it was an since it was a Jamaica set and on the local track). 5636 & 5754 both have a nice whining sound to the motors when they speed up, similar to PATCO's cars. Funny how 5754 happens to be the first R46, originally 500.
  2. Another Roster update: Line: 207 Street / 240 Street Yards Car Numbers: 1826-1830, 1841-1900, 2156-2475 Total Number of cars: 385 Line: Westchester Yard Car Numbers: 1706-1710, 1716-1720, 1721-1725, 1731-1735, 1741-1750, 1761-1770, 1791-1795, 1831-1835 Total Number of cars: 50 Line: Corona Yard Car Numbers: 1651-1705, 1711-1715, 1726-1730, 1735-1740, 1751-1790, 1796-1825, 1836-1840, 1901-1908, 1910-1926, 1934, 1938-1939, 1942-1944, 1947-1949, 1954, 1957-1965, 1966-2155 Total Number of cars: 369 I saw 1761-1770 on the today. That clears up everything with the 5 sets that were there. Updates: -1891-1895 transferred back to line from -2206-2210 transferred back to line from -2191-2195 transferred back to line from -1761-1770 transferred to Westchester
  3. 7211-7220 seems to be Out of Service again. I heard it was in service for around 3 days or so, and then went OOS again due to more problems. Makes me wonder if any R62A have been transferred to the lately or 1891-1895 & 2206-2210 are back on the . I haven't seen those two borrowed sets on the lately. Then again, I haven't been on the much as of late.
  4. One of them still has the / strip map. Not sure what number it though.
  5. This cannot be answered as each and every busfan/subway fan spends a different amount than the other person. The only way to find this out is if a survey was done on each and every busfan & subway fan.
  6. 9836 OOS with farebox taken out. It hasn't seen service in months. Last I heard it was still in the depot. Seems like whatever Zerega was doing with that bus, they're done doing it now. I saw 4458 on the Q32 the other day. I keep seeing QV buses on the Q20 as well.
  7. 198 seems to have a rebuilt engine. It has less miles on the bus than the other C40LF and the engine sounds a little different (the whining sound isn't in tune with the engine). 9836 is Scrap. It hasn't seen service for months. Seems like Zerega finished their training with them.
  8. I finally get to see an R142A (8) train
  9. 7211 is in Service, heading to flushing as I speak. I'm not sure what it's hooked up to, but it's out there. It's about time they get this thing in service with all the problems it had.
  10. World's longest bus

      lol wth? is that cgi?

  11. Is "EXPRESS | BUS" The new code? I've seen that on one of the Prevosts.
  12. I've had it happen on the B68 once. The drivers switched at Church Ave going NB.
  13. There are only 9 Orion V CNGs left at ECH, all on the scrap side. Eight of them are separated into two groups, with four in each group. There is another one (9865) in-between a bunch of other damaged buses. The buses are placed in this order: DF (defective): 713, 9980, 7235, 7252 9918, 9934, 714, 9986 Scrap: 9865 It seems at this point the rumors of 9918 returning are all false. The bus is still in one piece though. 9871, 9872 & 9967 are off property. A farewell to my favorite Orion V CNG (9967). Also, all the storage bees at ECH are scrap. They will be moved to the scrap side eventually. The ones currently in service at ECH will stay there.
  14. Nope, 7822-7832. Any location on the first converted set? I've checked E 180, CI & Corona yards recently and haven't seen them. The last possible place is Pitkin from what I hear.
  15. What are you talking about? The Q38 still has terrible OTP (on time performance) to this day.
  16. The seats are not left inside the cab. That would be impossible since there isn't enough room. They used an R62A as a prop for the "R142A". The car was #2079. It still has the fake blood stains inside the cab, but it's hard to see.
  17. I finally saw the new set yesterday on the . I also saw the first set on the to Main St. Still have yet to ride it on the express.
  18. I hear there's a bunch of C40LF's being loaned to LGA every day. Current Orion V CNG status: 9905 made it's way to LGA territory today on the Q18 in the morning. 9899 is reserved for LGA use from what I hear. I'm not sure if this is true or not. 9889 is back in service after an Oil leak. 9836 is either the one with the faulty engine or is reserved for use at Zerega for training. 9849 is OOS due to transmission issues. I was told today that 9918 was spotted backing up in ECH depot. It then went from the scrap side to the storage side. A few guys worked on it, giving it a new door to the gas tank and new license plates. It then returned to the scrap side. This is all I heard; I'm going up to ECH tomorrow to see if this is true.
  19. Right now there are four buses remaining that could potentially go in service. 9889 is OOS until further notice. 9874 is a maintence bus, not quite sure what the exact purpose of that bus is in the depot. 9871 probably got retired since they didn't need it and it had a small problem. Of course now they need it, but it's too late since it's in the scrap lot, missing a few parts.
  20. The cars on both ends of the 11-car train have the same last digit. 7844-7854 is the set after that.
  21. It really does feel weird to see LGA buses at Main Street (on the Q19). Three out of the four Orion V CNG's were out today. 9899 and 9905 were on the Q65, and 9849 was on the Q66. 9836 was still in the depot from what I heard, and 9889 is in Lot C (OOS lot). I rode 9905 later in the day and the B/O was pretty fast! I heard a lot of ringer from that bus. I saw 9849 on the Q66 when riding what should have been an Orion V CNG, but was a C40LF (run 621 -- for those of you who look for Orion V CNGs, look for run 621 on the Q66, between 2:22 PM (Main St) and ~7:15 PM at Main St). From what I hear, this is the story on 9889: The bus is OOS due to engine failure. I hear they have a replacement engine for the bus but they don't want to put it in since they don't want to fund a bus that should have already been retired. The thing is, CP needs those buses for service (9899 made it's way out today, even though it should have been in the depot, reserved for training at Zerega). The chances of seeing 9889 run again are low.
  22. Looks like we already had the first 12-9 of the year. Happened at Canal Street on the 8 Ave line, SB, around 6 am.
  23. Happy New Year!
