Looks like I need to get a few last pictures of them. I haven't ridden one for months.

7906 and 7907, along with their conversion sets are in service. I rode 7906 last Thursday on the , and saw 7907 today. Interesting to note that the set with 7907 was not in regular formation; The new C-car (7907) was towards the middle and 7296 was the North motor. I didn't get to see what was connected to that set as I only saw it on the Corona Yard lead. Pictures: Today: (Sorry, taken with phone. I forgot my SD Card at home).

That's literally downstairs from me... Weird since I never remember seeing 230 on the Q38. Did ride 801 on there though.

Either 8788-8792 is at Jamaica or an or got rerouted via Queens Blvd today because when I got down the steps at Roosevelt today there was an R160 on the local track and it was 8790. Not sure what set was in the front. I checked the next few trains going by and they were all Jamaica sets. Seems strange an 87xx set would be at Jamaica.

That explains it. Jamaica, along with Pitkin, are having their R46 go through SMS right now. Jamaica has only had about 4 or 5 sets go through SMS at this time, so it should be there for a while.

R142 and R188

Today I had a Q88 signed up as X68. I bet the driver did that because he was late. Also learned the hard way that some Q17s terminate at 188 Street / Horace Harding.

The FINDs are updated. I think they did that a few months ago after realizing none of the to 179 Street during rush hour go express past 71 Avenue. Any news on when the will be restored? I hear that R46 will be off the completely when it does get restored.

The was a mess today. I was waiting at Penn Station for an uptown and let a few pass since I wanted a seat. Next thing I know "After an earlier incident, trains are running with delays. The next 207 Street bound train is at least 20 minutes away". At that point I got pissed (I couldn't take the since I had to go to 207 Street). I got to the platform at 5:30 PM and got on the train at 6:27 PM. This isn't the first time this is happened too. About a week ago I missed an uptown at Penn Station and then hear there are delays in uptown and service (due to a stalled train at Canal Street). I go to take the to 7 Avenue/53 Street for the or , and then find out there are delays in uptown and service as well. The MTA really needs to stop screwing me over when I take the . Speaking of the line, they grinded the rails on the SB Express track from 125 Street to around 103 Street. It now makes that whining noise. I guess they are doing this to rails to have better traction (not too sure how this works). Quick question: Does anyone know when the next pick starts for the subway? I heard the R68/A and R32 are only for this pick. I better get a full length video before it's gone.

I'm guessing it is burn testing then? I saw it at 57 Street / 7 Avenue a little more than a week ago.

So I guess 7280 is getting converted right now? Damn, I feel old.

Those rails aren't new. What they do is use the rail grinder, which makes small grooves in the rails making that sound. It explains why the sound goes away after a while. I missed an R68A at 34 Street today going down. Didn't really care since I was planning on going uptown anyway.

Earlier at Times Square I was on a while a was pulling into the station. 1 second after the doors opened on the the doors closed on the , leaving everyone running for the with the doors closed in their face. Everyone trying to catch that was pissed, all shaking their heads. I'm surprised no one stuck their arm or leg into the door as if someone ran fast enough they could have made it. I guess some C/Rs really are a**holes. I'd say about half of the R46 cars are SMSed. A few Jamaica sets are SMSed while most of Pitkin's are. It's going to suck when they touch 5681 and 5741 as both of them howl. They may be doing 5681 at the moment as I haven't seen it. Hopefully they'll SMS the derailment sets and bring them back. Sucks 5636 won't whine anymore but at least it sounded good when it did.

For me I hear the "big sound" and I don't realize what happened until the train is grinding to a halt. I always get that adrenaline rush no matter what the incident is, especially after the derailment I feel it. To add to that, if you don't hear the compressor starting about 10 seconds after the BIE happens, then something is definitely wrong. A little off topic to the quoted post, but when the I was on derailed, it did stop pretty hard compared to the I was on about a month later that went BIE before Grand Avenue. The was going about 45-50 MPH while the was going about 25. They both had the same stopping time (about 12 seconds). Shows how much the brakes on the R160 suck... _____________________ Anyways, I thought I was seeing things earlier when I pull into Church Avenue on an R46 going uptown and there's an R142 from the on the express track. The LCD sign closest to the back had a rollsign sticker pasted over it with the route (Just like an R62A). I didn't see any cameras or movie prop around. The day before I was on an R46 going uptown at 57-7 when I see an R188 on the express track. It was the newest conversion set, 7251-7903-7260.

Yesterday around 9:15 PM I saw the newest conversion R188 set (7251-7903-7260) at 57 Street-7 Avenue on the NB Express track. Expect it to be a Corona very soon (if it's not already there).

Unless the train pulls in on the left track, then the doors don't open until 86 Street. That must really suck if you get something stuck in the door at Union Square and the train goes OOS at Coney Island on the left track...

8101-8108 are there for some reason. Weird how only the first 8 R143s are there.

1826-1830 was that one oddball that was never sent to the . Weird how 1821-1825 is now on the . The LEDs are pointless for that line.
