  1. They've been doing that a lot. I think now with the Summer schedule the 316 will be the victim especially during the week. During the April schedule; the 551 and 554 were seeing NABIs every weekday. The 551 and 554 still see NABIs but is not as often as they did during Spring schedule. More Newton Avenue MCIs have been helping on all Twp MCIs routes: Today- 19135 was a 401, Yesterday 18129 was a 554 and 19138 was also helping on the 406 and I think Friday 19129 was a 401 and 410. Washington Twp is down 4 18Ks due to collisions so this will be a norm until they can get those replaced or repaired.
  2. Officials: At least 13 injured in bus crash in Absecon, New Jersey - 6abc Philadelphia
  3. I am just hearing about this. Glad everyone's ok. Sadly, this is another blow to the already short Turnersville (Washington Twp) garage. They are now down 4 buses. 18014-ran off the AC Expressway on the 551 18023 and 18032, One bus rear ended the other on the 554 18016 now down due to accident on the 554. From the looks of this, it may be done. I have noticed this garage is suffering already. There are a lot of 5300s being used on all routes ( including the 551 and 554). Newton Avenue has been sending buses down the Freeway to help as well ( both NABI and MCI).
  4. I am beginning to see some rare sights on mybusnow out of South Jersey these days. Since this new schedule change, 5300s are showing up on the 551 and 554. It has been almost every day during the week since the schedule change. Really all of the MCI routes out of Turnersville are seeing 5300s more often. Also, the reverse effect still happens and MCIs show up on the 400, 403 and 459. It seems like loans from up the freeway ( Newton Avenue) only seem to be a night and weekend thing now. Tonight, 19134 is on the 554 which is rare; over the weekend the 400 had a couple of 5900s. 18129 was on the 406 last week during the evening. Makes me wonder how they're going to make it through when the 316 starts back up for the summer. It would be nice if a few 22000s were sent to help out during the summer.
  5. Nice!!! They might as well keep them down there until after the summer anyhow. They're going to need them with the summer schedule and the 316 returning.
  6. The article said something about safety concerns, but it shouldn't have constituted scaling the Philadelphia service. They should have moved the 313, 315 and 317 to 30th street and sent the 408 and 409 back to Market Street.
  7. https://www.nj.com/news/2022/03/better-south-jersey-bus-service-needed-for-philly-commute-and-in-rural-areas-riders-tell-nj-transit.html Well NJ Transit is already doing a big dis-service to their riders in South Jersey. There are now more routes being scaled back to end in Camden. No more 317, 408 or 409 and if you're coming from the Shore, no more 313 and 315 to Philadelphia. Riders have to either wait for another bus in Camden or take PATCO. Transfers take time and unfortunately when you get to the Transportation Center; there isn't always a bus coming going to Philadelphia. Coming back to Camden; that is also the same problem, and it could result in a missed bus connection. PATCO is crowded during the rush hour sometimes standing room only. They should have sent the 408 and 409 back to Market Street instead of eliminating Philly service altogether. For the 313/315 and 317 they should just go to 30th Street like the 414, 417 and 555. So now from Route 38 in Cherry Hill or Mount Laurel, you can't go directly to Philadelphia. The 317 was the last bus directly from Moorestown Mall to Philadelphia. On the Southern end, the 412 goes to Philadelphia but you have a lot of stops. The 551 is now being re-routed to Market Street with the 401, 402, 404, 406, 410 and 412. That is going to be a weird sight especially in the overnight hours. This new redesign will be interesting. I really hope they listen to these riders. A lot of changes need to be made. I know the riders want 15-minute bus service- so far, the only route in the Camden area that is remotely close to that is the 400. If they want service frequency, NJT will need more drivers and Turnersville garage will need some more buses which is a whole other story.
  8. That is good news. I actually thought that was in worse shape than 18032 and didn't think that would have been repaired either. Glad to hear at least that one of them will be back.
  9. 17065 is on the road out of Newton Avenue Camden; it has been doing the 317 and 409.
  10. 17065 is at Newton Avenue running on the 317-finally on the road 17066 and 18128 have been at Egg Harbor Twp; also noticed 18110 there a few times. Are there DOT inspections or something; several EHT buses have been in and Out of Newton Avenue.
  11. That's interesting for the D45 Charge; I just can't see those buses on the 317 doing that super long distance though. Meanwhile, I heard the XE 40s will be delayed until the end of the year.
  12. Finally 17065 is on the road, it has only been sitting in Camden for almost a year! It took a nice long trip on the 317 today.
  13. Wow that sucks, I guess the back frame was irreplaceable. I won't be surprised ends up there next too. That was more damaged than 18032. I wonder if those buses will be replaced for Washington Twp. 17065 was at Ironbound for maintenance and 17064 was sent there too since it has been out of service for a while. I wonder if both of those buses will be assigned to Washington Twp once their repairs are complete. I don't think the Camden garage needs 17064.
  14. That sucks, buses barely three years old. But yeah I saw the report 18023 is in really bad shape. I think there might be a glimmer of hope for 18032.
  15. Per CBS 3; 18032 was hit by 18023 on the White Horse Pike in Winslow Twp ( most likely doing a 554). Not good at all, glad everyone is ok!!! Sucks for Turnersville ( Washington Twp) they are already short buses, now they've lost two MCI buses for probably the next several months. https://philadelphia.cbs.local.com
  16. This is going to be very interesting: I know two routes that definitely need to hit the chopping block: 419 and 451. Both due to low ridership and I think the 451 is pointless as it runs parallel to PATCO most of the way and the 419 runs parallel to the RiverLine all the way to Riverside. I am not too sure about the other routes, the 400 and 403 are very long and high performing the entire route. I am not sure how they can make any improvements with this. The Mall Routes out of Camden (404, 405, 407, 450, 457)- I think the 457 should be cut in half and only run between Haddonfield and Moorestown Mall. The 404-405 and 407 are also quite busy but I was wondering if there was some way to combine the 405 and 407 and eliminate that Chapel Avenue service in Cherry Hill. The 450 is a circular route that is busier on the Camden-Audubon end. But I am guessing enough people still ride it between Cherry Hill and Westmont/Audubon especially since it stops by the Garden State Marketplace on Route 70 and serves the Cherry Hill ACRL stop. The 406 is a very busy route as well along Rt 70, I think it should be shared between both Newton Avenue and Washington Twp which will help with the shortage of MCI buses at Washington Twp but also due to the fact that it doesn't really connect with Washington Twp routes outside of Camden. As far as service, maybe scale back some of the rush hour trips to Cherry Hill Industrial Park and Horizon Corporate Center in Mt Laurel. During the weekday mornings, many buses are back to back. Those are my takes so far...it will be interesting how this pans out.
  17. I think this is the smart idea. The 317 is way too long. To be honest for local trips from Camden/Phila- Moorestown/Mt. Holly; I have always seen the 317 as the forgotten route. For one, it runs every 2 hours and the 413 runs very frequent during the rush hours and basically hourly during off peak times. The only difference is that the 317 stops at Moorestown Mall now which helps when a 413 is running behind. Of course, that is also the great alternative since the 413 now serves both Moorestown and Cherry Hill Malls. I would either scale the 317 back to Lakewood or maybe just combine it with the 413. On the Ocean/Monmouth County End, an 830s bus can take that route, I think the 317 connects with the 830 in that area anyway pretty much from Point Pleasant to Asbury Park.
  18. 17064 is at Newton Avenue not Washington Twp. Newton Avenue was just loaning that to them last week. 7645 RETIRED Sadly 19137 DONE due to Fatal MVA on the 317 last year.
  19. Agreed, we are short MCI buses in two of the three Southern garages however those 3 North Jersey garages have a lot of old buses that re on their last leg not to mention some buses that were totaled when Ida flooded Oradell's garage. Other North Jersey garages are helping Oradell currently.
  20. I agree; Camden doesn't need both of those buses ( 17064 and 17066). I am assuming they kept the 17000s to replace 19137 but still. The 17000s have been used as help for Turnersville this week, 17064 was on the 551 all day on Monday and 17066 was on the 410 and 412. Now that summer is over and the 316 is out for the season, Camden has MCIs sitting around especially since they rarely use their MCIs for Exact Fare lines. As of this morning, both of those buses are tracking at the garage ( Newton Avenue).
  21. I really love this paint scheme. And yes these buses need to head to NJT pronto. Oradell is in dire need now since IDA flooded out their garage resulting in them losing a whole bunch of their old buses all at once. They should trim Academy's order and fill NJT garages first that need new buses or have bus shortages.
  22. I am shocked too, is that the 1st newer bus to get scrapped? I guess maybe that is why Camden has 17066 back.
  23. 17Ks on the road at all 3 South Jersey Garages: 17063 and 17070 @ Egg Harbor Twp 17067 and 17068 @ Washington Twp ( Turnersville) 17064 and 17066 @ Newton Avenue ( Camden) Nice to see that they're slowly refilling the deficit from retiring the last of the 2001-2002 MCIs.
  24. Gotcha, but still strange that Newton Avenue was effected too. 3 buses were swapped from there too.
