  1. 19140 is also back at Newton Avenue. All Wayne buses have been sent back up North as well. Switch has been reversed ( for now anyway).
  2. 18005, 18007, 18008 and 18009 are all back at Washington Twp, 7516 however has been relocated to Oradell.
  3. Things are ever changing, 20014 is back at Wayne on the 197. 19138 and 19141 have been returned to Newton Avenue. 19138 is a 317 today and 19141 is en route to Cape May as a 316.
  4. 20014 is operating out of Camden on the 409 this evening. I wonder if this was being brought down to replace the buses they swapped ( 19138, 19140-19141).
  5. Well now it seems buses have been going back and forth, those 19000s went back to Wayne so now 20014 is tracking at Newton Avenue garage. 18127 and 18128 were also returned to Newton Avenue. I think 17185 and 19177 went back to Wayne too, Washington Twp got 18002 back only. The crazy part of all of this is none of Wayne buses have been in service on any of the South Jersey routes, which is bad because all three SJ garages are running short with MCIs now. Also noticed 21138 out of Egg Harbor Twp these past few days, most likely a summer loan.
  6. Very wasteful!!!! NJ Transit should take most of those buses away and use them to fill Oradell, Fairview and possibly Paterson's new bus order. Then send the remaining few buses to the three South Jersey garages that are also now short MCIs due at the expense of Oradell.
  7. It looks like Wayne ended up sending 3 buses back. 18127 and 18128 are back in Camden and Turnersville has 18002 back. 18002 was on the 406 earlier and is now on the 459 and 18128 was on the 409 earlier this evening. 18127 is tracking at the Newton Avenue garage. Hopefully during the next bus swap, they send South Jersey buses that are operable right away. It got so bad that they had to use an NABI on the 551 ( 5341). Newton Avenue was experiencing an NABI shortage on Wednesday evening due to helping Turnersville. 19145 made an appearance during the evening on the 452 as a result which was definitely rare.
  8. It is a shame they sent those buses down the Turnpike with problems. I have noticed that they're not being used on routes yet. I did notice 17067 tracking today but 19070 is in Camden at Newton Avenue garage along with 19075. I don't know what else Turnersville got besides 17067 and 19177 because nothing appears to have left the garage yet.
  9. Howell's routes are fairly long distance routes, they need their newer buses, plus they're helping the 319 too. I think they should have pulled from Ironbound or Wayne for Oradell, or perhaps trimmed the Coach USA 21K order to help fill Oradell's new buses first. They probably should have also assigned those Saddle River leftovers (17063-67) to Oradell instead of sending them to South Jersey. Glad Oradell is finally getting the new buses but it is at the expense of other garages being short buses now.
  10. So I guess all 3 Southern Garages are getting new buses when the 22000s arrive? I see they swapped some of the 19Ks between Camden and Wayne too which is strange.
  11. It looks like Newton Avenue has buses up there too, 18127, 18128, 19140 and 19141 are also at Wayne.
  12. Washington Twp MCIs are in North Jersey this morning ( Paterson/Wayne area) 18005 on the 190 18006-18008 are also at Wayne. 19053 is at Newton Avenue. I don't see any oddities at Washington Twp besides them have to put NABIs on 406, 410 and 412 today. What is the reason for the switch? Washington Twp is already short buses.
  13. South Jersey updates Newton Avenue: 19145 has been back since the end of last year. 17066 is there now too ( wonder if it is permanent or just for the summer to help with the 316). I think that was a Saddle River leftover Washington Twp: 7516 is the only old MCI left. 7512 and 7515 were retired. 5283 was the only NABI that came down from Meadowlands. 5284 is still in North Jersey. Egg Harbor Twp: 5923 ( former Montgomery and Westside bus) is there now. 19145 is back at Newton Avenue in Camden. Summer is here so there could be more updates as all 3 garages use more MCIs during the summer months to help with shore trips.
  14. It looks like another Montgomery and Westside bus was relocated to South Jersey; 5923 has been doing trips on Egg Harbor Twp routes in Atlantic County. I think 5760 is the next to go, that has been spotted in Newark/Elizabeth ( Ironbound Territory). Not sure if it is going to be doing Ironbound runs or if that will be relocated to another garage. I guess since they decided to trim down their service; NJT is taking a lot of their buses back and sending them to garages that are short. So far they've lost: 5759 and 6474 to Camden 6477 stayed in Jersey City but is at Greenville Garage 5923 now at Egg Harbor Twp.
  15. So I recently read that NJ Transit wants to start the pilot in Camden for the 8 Electric buses this Fall. Do we know what Models NJT will be using? (ie...Proterra or New Flyer). I actually hope it is New Flyer, I am not a fan of the Design of the Proterra buses.
  16. I am a South Jersey native here...but I have noticed in a lot of photos that some buses in North Jersey still operate without bike racks. I know when the NABIs were introduced in 2008 and 2009, that seemed to have changed and NJT put bike racks on most of them even in North Jersey, but I have noticed some of them have been removed. Why is that so? Back in the day ( 1990s), the bike racks were on Flexible buses in Camden, Trenton and Atlantic City areas and same with the 30 and 40 foot Novas when they ran. I guess it is something I have noticed and I am curious as to why.
  17. South Jersey is actually short buses across the board. Washington Twp only has 1 40 foot bus remaining now as all the others have been retired. In 2018, when the 18Ks arrived, there were 5. They need at least 5 to comfortably operate. Egg Harbor Twp is also short, they've lost 3 40 foot buses and with the approaching summer schedule, their routes will become busier. They need at least 3-5 to comfortably operate. Newton Avenue is only short 1 bus due to a traffic collision( 19137), I am assuming that vehicle is being repaired. There was a 40 foot bus sent down from Wayne for a while but I think that was retired. Newton Avenue doesn't need anymore MCIs right now. I think to help Washington Twp, Newton Avenue should take some 406 trips. Most of that line operates closer to Camden/Cherry Hill anyhow. Newton Avenue always has MCIs to spare. Washington Twp is also short NABIs too, They borrow from Newton Avenue often to assist with the 400 and 403, plus their 18Ks have been operating on the 400, 403 and 459 as well at least once a day. What happened to those Saddle River 17Ks making the trip down? Also what is going on with DeCamps 17K buses? Who will get those assuming DeCamp doesn't come back into business?
  18. The only old MCI at Newton Avenue is 7645( which has been MIA for about a week now) The only old MCI at Washington Twp is 7516 ( 7515 was recently retired and I think 7512 may be now as well). According to 553 Bridgeton Egg Harbor Twp has 7422 and 7442, they were rehabilitated and running now since their garage was short. Still with some of the new 21Ks sitting in Turnersville's backyard, it would be nice if NJ Transit left a few down there, Turnersville garage and Egg Harbor Twp can use a few more MCIs now. Both garages have lost 3 of their old MCIs, also Turnersville is running short on NABIs too, MCIs are being used on some trips on the 400, 403 and 459 and those lines are Exact Fare now. I have noticed even with borrowing NABIs from Camden that they still put the MCIs on these routes( even on the weekend).
  19. I have noticed that we barely see any of those 2015 Hybrids running out of Newark ( Ironbound) anymore. Maybe NJT should move a few of those back down to Egg Harbor Twp and even share a with Washington Twp to help with the bus shortage.
  20. Well I guess we will see, for some reason the 419 is still hanging on despite the RiverLine and the 409 actually has increased service. It really makes no sense to keep all of those routes running parallel to the Light Rail line but this will be interesting to see. My guess is at least get rid of the Express service first.
  21. A few Southern Division Updates: Washington Twp: Only 1 Old MCI Left now which is 7516, 7512 appears to be retired now. Only 1 NABI has been transferred down from Meadowlands, that is 5283, 5284 is still in North Jersey. Egg Harbor Twp: 19145 has been returned to Camden ( Newton Ave) 7422 and 7442 are out of storage and still running in service. Newton Avenue: 19145 is back
  22. To add insult to injury it looks like 19145 was sent back up the Expressway to Camden also. Noticed it back on the 409 over the weekend. It looks like we are down to just 3 old buses left in SJ one for each garage. 7516 (TWP) 7442 (EHT) and 7645 ( Camden). Hopefully relief comes by the Spring/Summer season.
  23. It looks like 5201's replacement finally arrived at Turnersville ( Washington Twp). 5283 is currently on the 400 this afternoon.
  24. South Jersey still needs about 15 more new buses as well. Egg Harbor Twp is short about 6, Turnersville could probably use 8 more ( at least) Camden only needs 2 maybe even just 1. NABIs are being used on MCI routes again which in turn is also stretching the NABI supply thin.
  25. I grew up and lived in the Camden/South Jersey area up until 2012 but come home for the Holidays ( like now). This assessment is very true. I wonder why the 419 is still in service. Yes the RiverLine runs parallel to this route. The RiverLine is much faster and this bus route was scaled back a few years ago (as it used to go all the way to Burlington). I personally think it should be eliminated. It connects with the 452 ( within the Camden City Limits) which is much busier and runs a bit more frequent. The 419 runs earlier and later when the RiverLine stops running ( which is baffling) since ridership is low during that time anyhow. Why not add those hours to the 452 and cut this route completely? But I also think on the same foot the 409 should be scaled back to only Bordentown or Florence as well as opposed to Trenton. I think if that was done, on-time performance on the 409 would improve drastically. If you have to go to Trenton, your only option should be RIverline. I am also confused as to how the 413 was EXTENDED from Burlington to Florence when again, the RiverLine can connect you North of Burlington. The 413 is already a lengthy route and has become very busy since it stops at both the Cherry Hill and Moorestown Malls now. It is used often since it is like a mall express bus as it does not cut through all of East Camden like the 404, 405 and 407. I can imagine on time performance is lack luster again on the 413 now too. NJ Transit definitely should do a thorough assessment in Burlington County of those three routes.
