Trainspotter Posted December 6, 2007 #1 Posted December 6, 2007 Witnesses describe terrifying scene during shootings at Omaha mall A rifle-toting gunman went on a holiday murder spree in a crowded Nebraska mall Wednesday, killing eight shoppers and leaving a suicide note predicting, "Now I'll be famous." Terrified bargain hunters and their kids cowered inside store dressing rooms or ducked behind clothing racks, while others ran screaming for their lives as gunfire rained from a third-floor balcony in Omaha's Westroads Mall. The rampage ended abruptly when the shooter killed himself. His body was found in the upscale Von Maur department store, where the shooting began about 1:40 p.m. Five other people were wounded, two critically. Full story: NY Daily News - December 6, 2007

Pablo M 201 Posted December 6, 2007 #3 Posted December 6, 2007 Horrible indeed. Took lives that didn't have to be taken.
Harry Posted December 6, 2007 #4 Posted December 6, 2007 The front page of their newspaper read "it happened to us". sad story. I saw that too. That really pisses me off. On the subway's I'm always ready to take anybody out that gets out of line. Whether if its with my ZEN player, my phone or my umbrella depending on what day, if they have they're back to me they are going to get cracked really hard in the head. Then after that they going to get stomped with my size 12s. A few moths ago a middle aged (45-55 years old) man pulled out a box cutter on the train. I looked at the guy next to me and said, "did you just see that". He responded "yes I did". I told him "if he starts getting crazy in here we'll take him out". He agreed. We were watching him for the entire ride. He's lucky he didn't start anything or else he would have caught a bad beating that day.
NJTransitFan Posted December 7, 2007 #5 Posted December 7, 2007 We must be vigilant, always. Especially these days.

DOB2RTO Posted December 7, 2007 #7 Posted December 7, 2007 Then after that they going to get stomped with my size 12s. We got something in common as my boots and shoes are the same size. Bad cut sneakers, then I need a 13. Had fun driving a Geo Prism, when I worked at AVIS rental car. Foot getting stuck between the gas and brake pedals. To defend myself when off the job, I carry my fish gutting tool: http://www.buckknives.com/search.php?op=detail&start=0&pkid=264&category_id=230&search_term=450&return_op=search At home: http://ruger.com/Firearms/FAProdView?model=5805&return=Y

This is what I carry on me sometimes. It's very sharp. It slices through anything. It's small enough that it shouldn't get me into that much trouble with the law. At home I have a whole collection of survival knives and knights daggers.

I think it's if the blade is under 4 inches, it's legal to carry.
Harry Posted December 7, 2007 #10 Posted December 7, 2007 I think it's if the blade is under 4 inches, it's legal to carry. It's actually a little over 4 ½".
DOB2RTO Posted December 7, 2007 #11 Posted December 7, 2007 It's actually a little over 4 ½". Your going to jail, Harry. Actually the cops have been known to take the good/nice more than 4 inch knives, and keep them for themselves.
