Pelham Bay Dave Posted April 6, 2010 Share #26 Posted April 6, 2010 We can Make the side signs read St Lawrance but it will still say Parkchester Bound 6 Train unless they program it in at the Yard. Greatone I agree dropping service out at Hunt Pt isnt the best idea but they are worried people will get confussed and be stuck at Parkchester since the other service on the Uptown Local will not stop. Its only going to be a few trains most will drop out at St Lawrance then lay up. This is a messed up schedule and will cause confusion among the crews and customers since the schedule is crazy and the lack of detail in the service notice that been posted very misleading. Can the 6 announcements say Hunts Point bound, or is it the same thing as St Lawrence?
NX Express Posted April 6, 2010 Share #28 Posted April 6, 2010 They should make all trains that used to terminate at Parkchester be extended to Westchester Square.
mark1447 Posted April 6, 2010 Share #29 Posted April 6, 2010 They should make all trains that used to terminate at Parkchester be extended to Westchester Square. Why extend it there if it ill delay at pkchester?
NX Express Posted April 6, 2010 Share #30 Posted April 6, 2010 Why extend it there if it ill delay at pkchester? How is it going to delay Parkchester? If the can run together in Manhattan, they can do the same in the Bronx.

If the is going express normal during which ever peak, lets say Pelham Bay Bound and then theres a Parkchester train coming it, it ill hold up that local. I think ether the should cut to Rush hours only instead and keep the local. Its not a long ride to Pelham bay park when i head there..
Pelham Bay Dave Posted April 6, 2010 Share #32 Posted April 6, 2010 They have Hunts Point in the software. Also turning service at Westchester SQ would be better for the lay Ups during the AM since Pelham service will be delayed anyway when the train drops out at St Lawrance. What about having the Local end at Hunts Point/163rd and make the Run Local from there to Pelham Bay? btw are you working out of westchester again? LRG Posted April 7, 2010 Share #34 Posted April 7, 2010 there is no announcement for that station it ill be Parkchester or just plain manual RTOman says otherwise.... How is it going to delay Parkchester? If the can run together in Manhattan, they can do the same in the Bronx. Agreed. The (6)/<6> combined, runs a total of 24 train an hour during the rush hours. If they can run fine in Manhattan then they sure as hell can run fine in the Bronx.
Pelham Bay Dave Posted April 7, 2010 Share #35 Posted April 7, 2010 The Hunts Point thing won't work because it would delay Pelham Service since the Pelham train gets switched to the local track before the station. They could run the Hunts Point trains Express like they will do in the Morning but they don't want it done that way since they have a Dispatchers office at 125 Street were Late AM and Early PM Parkchester crews will be relocated to. Yes I'm on the now and will be dealing with this crazy stuff.

mark1447 Posted April 8, 2010 Share #39 Posted April 8, 2010 Well, they easily can be. I doubt that station would be programmed as its not even a Northern Terminal. Now manually can do. But i will see when this g/o happens..
Pelham Bay Dave Posted April 8, 2010 Share #40 Posted April 8, 2010 The got a whole bunch of things going on at once so they want less service in the Bronx they are now starting work at Elder and St lawrance and track work going on all summer
Newkirk Plaza David Posted April 8, 2010 Share #41 Posted April 8, 2010 So northbound local trains will terminate at St. Lawrence Avenue during rush hours? Here is the skinny AM Rush: Northbound terminates at St. Lawrence, wait there for next Pelham local thru train (bypassing Parkchester because it will be on the local track), southbound is normal until 10 AM Midday: Parkchester trains terminate at 3rd Ave/138, Pelham Bay trains run local in both directions, northbound bypassing Parkchester PM Rush: Northbound terminates at St. Lawrence - - Must transfer at Hunts Point for thru service (should be interesting for thos getting to Parkctester - - those starting st Elder and St. lawrence must use Bx4 to Parkchester station or go back to Hunts Point. The northbound wiull use the southbound platform to stop at Parkchester. Evenings (after 9 PM) nights and Weekends: Same as Midday, only without the 3rd Ave termination, unless affected by G.O.s then all northbound will bypass Parkchester.
