MTR Admiralty Posted May 13, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 13, 2010 This will be one thing (for the B'way Nassau thing), a lot of subgrade superstructure work there. The ramps should be fully demolished by now, I think.

JFK 7212 Posted May 13, 2010 Share #5 Posted May 13, 2010 With the majority of MTA buses governed at 40mph that won't be pretty and/or worthwhile.

AJ023 Posted May 13, 2010 Share #7 Posted May 13, 2010 Anyone know what work is being done to the ? That one is really bad because it goes straight to Jamaica Station for LIRR and the Air Train for JFK connections and a shuttle bus means more traffic and worse times on that route. Not good at all. Seems like it will be worked on for 3 weekends in a row too. I hope after the work is done, its done for good. I wonder what is being done to the line though. Must be significant if its being taken out of service for so long. Any ideas?
FamousNYLover Posted May 13, 2010 Share #8 Posted May 13, 2010 Bus doesn't get into traffic much on weekend. I have taken. Do you remember when all service changes were PDF at no service east of Crescent St. There was note, passenger may use LIRR for $3.50 for alternative service. MTR Admiralty Posted May 13, 2010 Share #9 Posted May 13, 2010 Yea but they gonna provide special Express Bus service that ill run thru I895/87.. Most likely it will go from 149/3rd to 180th. 180th track work, right? Bus doesn't get into traffic much on weekend.I have taken. Do you remember when all service changes were PDF at no service east of Crescent St. There was note, passenger may use LIRR for $3.50 for alternative service. Not many folks know about the CityTicket programme. And plus, if you started with the subway, why get out at Penn or Woodside to pay another $3.50 to go to the AirTrain? And plus, if you started with the subway, why get out at Penn or Woodside to pay another $3.50 to go to the AirTrain? No The Bus ill end at Mott Avenue(GC). Two Shuttle Buses Ill run: Local- (Making IRT WPR All Stops): Starts at 149th Street/Grand Concourse, runs with the Bx19 to 149th St- Bregen Ave(Near 3rd Ave) then run with the Bx4 from Bergen/Westcheter Ave to Southern Blvd/Westchester Ave(Simpson St), up Southern Blvd(Bx19) to Boston Road/Sou. Blvd(174th St) then via Boston Rd(Bx21/36) to East Tremont Ave Station, then straight to 180th Morris Pk. Same for going down. Express (Making no Stops from 180th-149th via Expressway)- Its similar to the one from 2003/2004(Thats the last time this G/o happened) Runs from 149th Street/GC then to the Degen (I87) then via I278(Brukner) followed by via I895(Sheridan) to 180th and back. If anyone wants to avoid this, I suggest you use the via Concourse and grab a crosstown bus or the if you are near Westchester Ave/Southern Blvd area and below. Or use Taxi/car Or stay home lol

Ill check saturday what they get. I hope an Rts pops out. True. But I think it depends on the demand. I haven't seen it done before personally, although I have heard of it. But, based on logic and the fact that an entire stretch of subway is being closed, I think it would warrant some crowding.
mark1447 Posted May 14, 2010 Author Share #16 Posted May 14, 2010 Btw as for your 180th Track work, Not to sure. If it were 180th the t/a would suspend the (5)/Replace with Dyre bus and have the run normal. Or Have the end at 180th and replace the rest with while runs as Dyre instead. I think its that + some other work around 174th/Freeman. I saw some MOW workers around there 2 days ago as the trains were going Exp.
