LRG Posted July 2, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 2, 2010 Nice! What were they doing there?
bklyntekgeek Posted July 2, 2010 Share #3 Posted July 2, 2010 Work service probably. I've seen them do this back in the days before the R-46 was ever transferred to the A. I saw an R-46 at Rockaway Blvd. a few years ago. The train was not in service. It was signed as the "E". It was delivering the workers to their destinations because the cars had AC. Probably same here.
Grand Concourse Posted July 2, 2010 Share #4 Posted July 2, 2010 If they were for work service, then that's a bit excessive having 2 5-car sets there. If anything they could've used like 4 R62A singles.
553 Bridgeton Posted July 2, 2010 Share #5 Posted July 2, 2010 Nice catch! The R46s sound so bouring on the . Going to miss the R44s cool sound!
iGeMiNix Posted July 2, 2010 Share #6 Posted July 2, 2010 Did like the R62's get a new brake package to test or something because like Grand Concourse said, taking a full set OOS is a bit too much.
Queens Surface Posted July 2, 2010 Share #7 Posted July 2, 2010 Most likely they were doing brake testing on the set of R62s.
