iGeMiNix Posted August 1, 2010 Share #51 Posted August 1, 2010 It might happen, but Bowling Green loop might get backed up. Which brings up another question, would using both loops help? Still, the train would have too be held at the loop anyways.

No, I meant if the were terminating at Brooklyn Bridge, the might still be terminating at 42 St, unless MTA wanted ,, and to run on the same track from BB to 14 St due to express GO making all N/B trains run express. It's happened before, so I don't see why not now. BTW, this GO is due to City Hall Loop track work.

Probobaly the would terminate at the "Green" and run at 20 min intervals.
TwoTimer Posted August 2, 2010 Share #55 Posted August 2, 2010 Of course the is at GC cause the is using the Green, and in the recent past when there was no BBGE GO the was up at Grand Central anyway with work at FSTC. Anyways, the stuff in the Bronx (two (5)s one doing shuttle duty the other one to 241)... we're still scracting our heads on that one. Anytime the Green is cut off for whatever reason, OoS, another line using it, etc, the is at GC or doesnt run at all (except shuttles). Rare occasion it goes to BBGE too. Also the GO area is in the north part of the loop coming out by 4 track and extends around the curve by Worth St, and occupies the switch just north of BBGE. The first week of the GO they werent replacing the roadbed that far north yet so the switch was available for use and they used it. Now it is. 4/5/6 trains have all gone up one track before, with congestion yes but nothing that's beyond normal rush hour headways for that section of track. GreatOne2k Posted August 3, 2010 Share #56 Posted August 3, 2010 If was normal (running to Brooklyn Bridge) MTA should try this for the GO each at 12 minute headways. 241 St Bowling Green Lex Av Exp 5:00am-1:00am Sat, 6:00am-12:00am Sun Dyre Av Brooklyn Bridge Lex Av Lcl 5:30am-10:30pm Sat, 7:30am-9:30pm Sun express and local get relief from each of the trains. There are two trains 7 days a week (weekends because of the GO), except on weekdays to 238 instead of 241. MTA is used to having 2 different trains.
