If the cars are falling apart, what sense would it make for the Transit Museum to keep the rust-buckets around? The R46s on the other hand, well that's different.

There is no room for 4 car sets right now. The TM has its hands full trying to preserve and restore what it has already. Perhaps that will change. It's likely one or more sets may "hang around" in a state of limbo anyway. Remember it may make more sense to save a SIR R44, and maybe save an R46 AA pair when the time comes.

But nothing official is planned at the present time. That, you can take to the bank.

They kept the redbirds;):P

And they're (the Train Of Many Colors) falling apart also. That's why we haven't seen them on any fan-trips lately.

WHY is this thread from several months ago being bumped??

Why is somebody always asking that!? Better to bump an old thread, than to start a new one on an old subject. If it's not popular, it will fade away just as fast as it was brought back.

Because #1 it's a valid question and I'm allowed to raise it, #2 this thread has been back from the dead for no reason. A stupid one line post beginning with "I wish" that presents no new or useful information is what caused the gravedigging.

Vote to lock.

Besides it is quite safe, and about 99.9% certain, to say the last R44 in passenger service has already run, so there is nothing more to say in this thread.
