Meadowland Metro-North Special to New Haven Line- NJT Cars Leaves Penn Station 10/17

Recommended Posts

Trains weren't filling up so single level Comets now go out there.

It auctally depends on the size of the event. Regular season games, not many people go too now let fast foward to January during the play off. All you''ll see is Multilevel dominating the New Haven Line.

Why couldn't they use Reg.MNR cars for this?

Why Comets as A choice ...I mean ugh ....(Mx)(7)'s weren't around

Because It's all NJT equipment. Meadowlands is NJT so they use NJT epuipment which utilizes the catenary wires. MNRR can't use M2/4/6s becuae they can't run on Amtrak's catenary wires.

No, no, no. The reason why ANY Metro North MU can't traverse Penn is because they lack retractable thrid rail shoe and will instantly rip apart the LIRR's thrid rail if they made it that far. Yes, there have been cases of M6 acutally caught on the Hell Gate line back in the 90s. The M8s have a retractable third rail shoe.
