Lived in New York City 30 years (also Bensonhurst and Sunnyside, Queens). Rode the subway every day from 12 y/o on (worked in Manhattan, went to Fordham in the Bronx). Was an active member of the ERA (until Hughie Dunne stole all the organization's money). My father worked for the T.A. 35 years (conductor, motorman, dispatcher, finally at Jay St). Transferred to California in 1980 for the company I was working for at the time. Have lived in Atlanta since 1995. Until Mom passed recently (she lived in Howard Beach) I was up in the City several times a year. Would fly into JFK take the train to Jamaica then the Q41 to Lindenwood (and when she was in nursing home the E train, where the R32s still ran, to Van Wyck station). Anyway I'm really interested in fantrips. I'll fly up, spend some time in the City, etc. But I'm not retired and still work (indeed, I have a 16 y/o daughter which is why I continue to live in Georgia).
