Amtrak7 Posted September 11, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 11, 2011 A while back, I got an email that my YouTube account was eligible for monetization. Should I do it? Since some people on this forum have very popular YT accounts, I think it's the best place to ask.

YankeesPwnMets Posted September 11, 2011 Share #4 Posted September 11, 2011 If you do, just be careful with the music you use in any music videos. If you get money off of them, they expect you to follow WMG and whatever crap's copyright rules. All in all, unless you make your own music, if you do apply, then music is pretty much going to have to be nonexistent in your videos. Don't expect to make a living off of it. While people like nigahiga and kevjumba can probably make as much money as I do per year without any job, most people probably won't earn more then a few hundred unless your all your videos get over a hundred thousand hits or so... Your not able to make money legally yet since your 15. You should be able to do so when you turn 16 or you should have let your parents sign up. IRT Bronx Express Posted September 14, 2011 Share #8 Posted September 14, 2011 In a way, it's like Google AdSense... right?
Guest lance25 Posted September 14, 2011 Share #9 Posted September 14, 2011 Well, given the fact that Google owns YouTube, it's probably the same service.
Cait Sith Posted September 15, 2011 Share #10 Posted September 15, 2011 In a way, it's like Google AdSense... right? Essentially, its the same thing, except YouTube adds $$ to your payout. You need the right amount of video and channel traffic along with a decent amount of videos to get top dollar payouts.
