Grand Concourse Posted February 14, 2013 Share #27 Posted February 14, 2013 My response wasnt rude at all thats why... If you feel that way then hey what can i say? Exactly, nothing rude about it at all. If a person wanted pics that badly, he can always see for himself or wait patiently for someone to upload a pic. I did take your second point and compliment the user who posted a picture of it here and you see the response I got above. Now, i'm asking once again for everybody to please let this go now. Minato ku Posted February 14, 2013 Share #29 Posted February 14, 2013 I saw pictures of the station and I am a bit disappointed. Not that the renovation was badly done, it look very nice but the fact that the station look very old fashioned. The problem is not the station itself but the facilities of the station. I have the impression that this picture could have been taken in 1980. NYCT_6432 par MTAPhotos, sur Flickr

lupojohn Posted February 14, 2013 Share #31 Posted February 14, 2013 Let me apologize for screwing up my last post, but I like the old-time feel. Seems simple enough.
Minato ku Posted February 14, 2013 Share #32 Posted February 14, 2013 ..but the ticket booth is ugly. It does not really feel "old-time" nor modern, it looks quite outdated.
Grand Concourse Posted February 14, 2013 Share #33 Posted February 14, 2013 It's not that bad. Of course would it be nicer if it was flashier like Myrtle-Wyckoff? Yes, but I don't think there's an unlimited budget for it and the idea is to just bring the station back asap. Other than a few folks, I think the general public wouldn't really care. No matter what the current aesthetics are, it is still a vast improvement compared to what was there before. Could they have been more historical? Sure. But as GC said, the TA does not have an unlimited budget, and the community needed this station back ASAP. As for the ticket booth, that is the standard design for 'em, I believe. It may not be pretty, it might be too utilitarian, but it serves it's purpose well enough. And for the TA and most people, that's what counts. Minato ku Posted February 15, 2013 Share #35 Posted February 15, 2013 I can imagine that the station was in very bad shape, Knickerbocker was closed for five months.

I think it would have been better if they had put tiles on the floor and I think the renovation of the station should have been longer than that, like Smith-9th Sts. At least in Singapore the concourse floors or ticket halls have tiled floors, even the elevated stations.
Vistausss Posted February 17, 2013 Share #41 Posted February 17, 2013 It's not that bad. Of course would it be nicer if it was flashier like Myrtle-Wyckoff? Or like the new Atlantic Ave-Barclay's.
Grand Concourse Posted February 18, 2013 Share #42 Posted February 18, 2013 Right, as those are transfer points, this is just another local station. Thus it doesn't deserve the special treatment IMO.
