  1. The Bx46. As someone who resides in Inwood and has heard stories about the passengers that serve the M35, no thank you on a merger with the M100. Regarding the M98/BxM1, still trying to wrap my head around how you would extend the 98 into Inwood when it operates on Fort Washington Avenue.
  2. The right move by the MTA, but they better have extra law enforcement on hand since there will be many fights over seats and such.
  3. This is probably the only time I am ever going to say this, but I completely agree with your post here (haha). As someone who lives near the M101 (as well as the M3 and M4. Others too, but they have no consequence on this thread), that driver switch is annoying pain in the ass. Months ago, I had a driver who didn't even know the signage properly (he didn't know it was a 101). I told him when I got off at the last stop, he tried to get nasty with me, but I shut that down. As I said in the other thread, the 101 is long overdue for SBS.
  4. They can't run artics on the St. Nicholas shuttle because they do the same turn as the M3.
  5. Regarding the farebeating: The Bx41 (as it was mentioned here) checks for tickets at Fordham Road. At least it did when I was riding it. The M86 shouldn't have SBS to begin with, but that's another story. Perhaps the driver explaining is him/her DOING THEIR JOB. If you had ticket checkers at every stop, that will slow things down even more. Face it: as wrong as it is, you're never gonna stop it completely. The M14A/D is the only crosstown that actually needs SBS. Guessing one would be SBS, the other local and they maintain their current routes. It doesn't specify if both would be converted. The M11 would seemingly be cut back from Riverbank Park to 135th Street. Interesting. I can't comment on the other routes as I don't live in Brooklyn or Queens.

  7. I was talking about you specifically as I bolded part of your statement, but I think Turtle answered the question.
  8. I've been out there every day and it is annoying not to be able to track or at least have the post the info about when they're running. Oh wait, this is the . Anyway, they run two on the M42, one sits at 34th and 6th and another at Union Square when the driver shows up to work. Usually, they operate one in each direction, but yesterday 5227 and 9098 were going in the same direction. 8466 and 3100 are running and 100 made a cameo. Oh, and I was told they start at 9am.
  9. As someone who actually lives near the M98 and takes it on occasion when not on an express bus, i'll make a few points: You can't comment on the route when you don't live in the borough or ride the route (see the avatar with a B in it) The M101 is not easy to get to. There's Fort George Hill by the first stop and Yeshiva University along Amsterdam Avenue. Taking the M98 away would only overcrowd the M4 even more and likely make some M101's (those that choose to take it) even worse. The M98 should experimentally be full-time. If it doesn't work, cut it back to part-time. It sees enough ridership to warrant this and definitely has no business being eliminated. It really gets crowded along 178th.
  10. The driver on Bx12-SBS #5318 just closed the wheelchair ramp by hand. First time i've ever seen that.
  11. Since you asked a question with the word, i'll answer it: No, you're bragging about stuff when you mention espressos, Whole Foods anything else that is strictly for the 1%. Your complaining about buses going through Inwood is coming off as whining because you're delayed a few extra minutes that make no difference in your commute. OK, people should realize which card to use, but that's the job of the driver to explain it. The example you cited was extreme. Without getting too political, Trump is rich due to his businesses, not the American dream. Let's just put it out there: his father gave him a $1 million dollar loan. We should all be so lucky. Finally, you say "I don't purchase anything during the cost of the day that is cheap". That's correct because you have close to seven figures, which is fine as you earned that money. However, most people are not in that category and yes $2.75 is a hassle to them. The wants to raise the fare crying they have no money when we have piss-poor service, broken-down and dirty stations, overcrowded trains and buses and people within the agency pocketing money (and yes, I stand by that claim 100% as I did the first time I said it), but hey it's all good, right? Seriously, let's end the discussion on this. Let's stop quoting each other on the matter. We're all from different financial backgrounds, different viewpoints and arguing on the matter only clogs up the thread unnecessarily.
