A spokesman for the Fire Department said a call about the blaze came in at 10:44 a.m., and firefighters were on scene four minutes later. No one was injured in the incident, and the Bravest had the fire under control at 12:10 p.m. Traffic along the Long Island Expressway was backed up for at least a mile heading eastbound as emergency responders addressed the burned MTA bus. ---- Bus # is 3128 from College Point depot. Cait Sith Posted September 28, 2013 Share #4 Posted September 28, 2013 Bus is actually 3218, and that looks like a deadhead trip. Sent from my SGH-T699 using Tapatalk
aemoreira81 Posted September 28, 2013 Share #5 Posted September 28, 2013 This bus looks repairable. A retired MCI is probably the donor for the replacement parts (except for a new rear sign which probably needs to be installed).
QM1to6Ave Posted September 29, 2013 Share #6 Posted September 29, 2013 I hope the fire suppression system worked properly...that is one smoky fire, and I know that the local FDNY house is not that far away so it couldn't have taken too long to get there
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted September 29, 2013 Share #7 Posted September 29, 2013 The article says that it snarled traffic along the LIE so I would imagine either on the LIE or somewhere near it.

Unless that bus recently got a new nose it isn't... 3218's the one with the funky blue numbers on the front, not the original black ones.
