QM1to6Ave Posted July 9, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 9, 2015 I wonder how many engineers actually returned the ballots...the website seems to only say that 100% of the returned ballots approved the strike

46Dover Posted July 16, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted July 16, 2015 I saw that too. Would've been very bad for us. We don't have nowhere near the manpower or buses to accommodate those crowds
553 Bridgeton Posted July 16, 2015 Share #5 Posted July 16, 2015 That wouldnt have been pretty. NEC would have been the main priority. You would need every garage north/south to cover that alone.
Orion VII 4 Life Posted July 17, 2015 Share #6 Posted July 17, 2015 That wouldnt have been pretty. NEC would have been the main priority. You would need every garage north/south to cover that alone. The ATU and TWU would order their drivers not to run replacement services in support of the railroads unions. That's what the ATU/TWU at MTA was gonna do for the LIRR strike and they had to get school bus companies on standby to do that work.
DaTransitMan4608 Posted July 17, 2015 Share #7 Posted July 17, 2015 That wouldnt have been pretty. NEC would have been the main priority. You would need every garage north/south to cover that alone.Coach USA could've helped but there wouldn't be much they can do.These would be alternatives had this strike happened: Trenton: SOL unless you're willing to spend an arm & a leg on Amtrak. Hamilton: SOL Princeton: CUSA Suburban Jersey Ave: CUSA Suburban New Brunswick: CUSA Suburban Edison: SOL Metuchen: SOL unless you drive to Woodbridge for the 116 or Plainfield for the 114. Metropark: Head to Woodbridge for the 116 Rahway: 115 bus Linden: Go to Elizabeth for 112 Elizabeth: 112 bus Newark Airport: Newark Airport Express bus Newark: PATH & 108 Secaucus: 129 bus So glad they averted this strike, for now at least. That just goes to show how much people take the NEC for granted lol.
