R68/R68A with Digital LCD or LED Signs

What would you guys think if they placed LCD or LED signs on the R68/R68A cars???

 

would it be nice, or should i stick to my Roll Signs? lol.

lol i figured ud say that. i think i will. R68/R68A's roll signs look really nice, esp on the R68A's. i miss the old font tho.

Stick with rollsigns, but switch back to the original ones from 1986, which are exactly like the R62A ones. They don't have enough info on them at the moment IMO.

that is so true. i hate those roll signs the R68/R68A has. and if u think about it, i remember when the letter was a little smaller on the colored circle. if u look at the or the ( or the , the letter is much bigger than the shape itself.

I hate to be the sole dissenter, but I'm for digital displays. If money were not an object, I'd have no problem with full color LCDs that diplayed the classic rollsigns.

You're not the sole dissenter... I agree with every word you said.

 

My opinion is, at the very least, overhaul the R62/68s to give them digital signs on the sides of cars. Leave the front/back rollsign if you want.

I'd want to stick with the rollsigns, but if they were to use LEDs, then I'd say replace them. Definitely don't want LCDs.

I think there are why too many important things for the (NYCT) to spend money on the retrofitting R68/As with new signs. Right now the rollsigns work fine although having them light up would not be a bad idea.

I like those. They're very much like a heads up display. The problem, is with vandalism. At this stage in development, they would have to be enclosed in some double-paned design to be deployed on subway cars.
