rad3766 Posted November 24, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 24, 2008 Hello all, I grew up on Long Island with the Oyster Bay branch of the LIRR running behind the house, back in the Alco RS days. I now live in Texas close to Union Pacifics Houston sub, great train watching, besides UP, theres Burlington Northern (BNSF) Kansas City Southern and Amtrak also. My job has me flying into NY metro area on a regular basis usually into Newark, so I have accumulated a bit of experience with NJT buses and trains, PATH, AMTRAK, LIRR, NYCTA subway and surface and the Staten Island ferry. I actually am now way more familiar with NY/NJ regional public transportation than when I lived here. I'm interested in all modes of transportation, although aviation really doesnt do much for me.
