Metro North m7 m8 and m9

M8s are used in CT, you must be talking about Danbury & Waterbury branches. They aren't used there cause those branches aren't electrified.

Same applies for the Harlem line between Southeast and Wassic, that part of the line isn't electrified so MUs can't go there.

M7 can't run in CT cause the New Haven line in CT uses overhead wire as an power source (M7s are 3rd rail only).

M9s don't run in Upper NY cause Metro North doesn't have any M9s.

How come some of the station signs are red and green? Can they convert those stations to blue instead? Some people will find the colors annoying even if they’re minor issues.

New Haven line = Red signs

Hudson Line = Green signs

The Harlem line uses Blue signs that's why the other two lines don't.
