Pablo M 201 Posted November 29, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted on:11/29/2008 1:08:10 PM Due to marine traffic affecting the Broadway Bridge, there is no train service in both directions between the Dyckman Street Station and the Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street Station. Please expect delays in service on trains at this time. I believe this is the return of the barge of death, correct?

MTR Admiralty Posted November 30, 2008 Share #7 Posted November 30, 2008 I hope that barge sinks soon so the R32 won't have to go!!! Grow up. If the barge sinks, so will the R32s. And, the MTA would always order another barge. It's not like if the barge is down, the entire retirement process is down for the MTA.
7LineFan Posted November 30, 2008 Share #8 Posted November 30, 2008 Pics of the barge on nycsubway.org showed it full of R32s.

<6> Pelham Exp Posted March 7, 2009 Share #10 Posted March 7, 2009 Let the barge sink, sink, sink!!!Order a new one will be like weeks to arrive so longer time for those R-32, R-38, R-40 and R-42 left to stay in service. Let the new one sink, sink, sink too!!! there is gonna be a lot of problems on the 1 line
metsfan Posted March 7, 2009 Share #11 Posted March 7, 2009 If the barge sank in the wrong spot it would be a seriously bad problem. I guess the R38's are officially going to be gone when it leaves. Mixed feelings on that. They are VERY much EOL, with all the common EOL problems, however they are interesting with the old fashioned molded end piece reminding us of much earlier designs. - A
