Soon, there will only be 200 R142As left in service.
Once the 380 R142As from Westchester Yard are converted to R188s and sent to Corona Yard, I hope the train requirements for the 4 and 6 respectively goes like this: The 4 consist of 180 segments of R62As and 170 segments of R142s. The 6 consist of 60 R142s, 160 R142As, and 180 R62As. The car assignment change will be better for the 4 and 6 trains respectively, they both get their fair share of NTTs and non-NTTs.- Show previous comments 7 more

Don't be so sure about the return of the rfw. since the ML needs only 10 car trains and how they are now linking the single cars into units, more cars will be full width cabs once they are off the 7. the only way i see R62As being split b/w the 4 and 6 is if the 4 gives up their R142A/S to the 6 so the 6 has all the Kawasaki R142As.
