  1. I saw a to 241 on subwaytime a few minutes ago. It just disappeared from the boards altogether. Maybe a glitch.
  2. I've also. been noticing the faster station entries and faster operation in general along the on Broadway and QBL. Runtimes have marginally been improving with the signal and ops improvements
  3. The Jamaica Yard R160s that occasionally run on the have been updated to reflect M14 SBS. That was fast.
  4. The speed limit increases and more aggressive operation are making a noticeable impact from a rider perspective. Moreso in Manhattan than Queens (as the was already relatively fast before a few tweaks there) but hey I'll take it.
  5. The old R46 paint reminds me of the LIRR M1/M3. Looks fly.
  6. I used OMNY the past 2 Fridays to take advantage of the Mastercard promotion, the fare rebate posts about one week after tapping. Just in case anyone is curious.
  7. Another QBL observation/question Have the DGTs on the n/b local at Forest Hills been modified? I didn't see them active yesterday as a terminating pulled in, this was during a GO with all service on the local track.
  8. A step in the right direction, a necessary one IMO. Lets see what the Roosevelt Island Tram, Beeline, Long Island Bus, etc do next
  9. There is a (temporary?) wall where thr crossover once was
  10. That would do wonders for weekend QBL service when GOs are in full force, especially e/b. The difference is noticeable, just like when the went to 179 this weekend.
  11. Thats what I meant too, the single one shot GT is the only one in the tube between 21st and Lex-63rd in either direction, so it seems a bit out of place. On another note, the DGTs at Roosevelt Ave seem to have been looked at. Got on a s/b via the local (unplanned reroute) this morning. Speed was not much slower than normal into Roosevelt Ave, so I was a bit surprised when the crossed over to the express track. Ever since the resignalling a couple of years ago the DGTs they put in would force trains to crawl thru the station up to the homeball, but not today.
  12. Is that GT there because of the station or the switch after it? I think theres only 1 one shot aside from possible ST
  13. At least this weekend the is going to 179 and there is all local service. Only question is that if the is short turned, would it be the or the running local to cover it
  14. You should be able to see it thruout the day, yesterday I passed thru around 130pm
  15. CWR is Continuous welded rail WDs are Wheel Detectors, or "timers" that measure the speed of the train by axles as opposed to just time. DGTs are Diverging Grade Timers. Active only when a diverging route is set on a switch ahead. Someone please add more/correct me if Im wrong By the way I saw the same WDs active at QP today with no in sight as my was departing
  16. I thought express transit was only on Apple Pay / iOS? I never explicitly enabled such a setting or any related setting, if there is one. How would I find out? Also I did not set up google pay.
  17. So I tried OMNY twice today with Samsung pay. Both times on the first tap it said "Tap only one card". Anyone else get this error with Samsung Pay?
  18. An was crossing through the switch. I was trying to emphasize that letting the enter the station as it crossed instead of holding in the cut should be the norm instead of the exception. Sorry if I was unclear, and thanks for the insight. Always appreciated
  19. Looks like dispatching makes a world of difference, good decision to use WDs instead of a hold outside the station. On another note I thought WDs were on their way out
  20. So it looks like the 11th St Cut Queens bound track, as well as the n/b local track at Queens Plaza, had the timers tweaked or a change in dispatcher. The 11th St Cut timers now clear at the posted speed. At Queens Plaza, the wheel detectors (!) were active for the first time that I've seen while an crossed over as my was pulling in. And no the didnt diverge. Normally the is held outside the station if an gets the lineup to switch to the local. More suprising was that the wheel detectors cleared at the posted speed as well and didnt delay the This was about 10 minutes ago, smoothest ops I've witnessed there in a while. @RR503 any input?
  21. I'll catch that R46 once or twice a week going downtown from lex/63rd, I have yet to see the rollsign/LCD to not say
  22. The service statuses are changing, according to this twitter thread
  23. Speaking of HEETS along QBL, HEETs were replaced at Grand Ave in 2015 and some of the ones Elmhurst Ave earlier this year. It was sorely needed at Grand Ave with all the people transferring to and from the Q58. Elmhurst wasnt as bad, at the east entrance, it had 2 HEETs for the manhattan bound platform and 1 for 71 ave bound. Sometimes if they broke it would cause problems. Now that entrance has 3 normal turnstiles manhattan bound and 2 HEETs 71 Ave bound. In both cases there hasnt been much of an uptick in farebeating.
  24. In the May 2019 bus plan 1 year update (pdf ound under board meeting docs on the mta site), all door boarding will begin around q1 2021 coinciding with the release of the OMNY card
