Well I can say a lot of hipsters here in NY probably don't care either. I don't my fair share of them but for the unfortunate ones I do know...as long as it takes them from point A to B then it's whatever. But it's when something like the A/C doesn't work is when they start complaining.

Well, there was a bunch of people posting in the R179 thread a while back that the "L will get the R179s because of all the hipsters there", which seems to imply they're one of the people who demand all new things (even though the R143s are really not that old, but I guess it must be about "principle" or something.) Mind, since the 179s will be in 4 car trains it undermines the point somewhat, but it seems to imply the hipsters clamor for all the new things.

The complaint about A/C is a valid one, though. Mind, I'm sure there are those who are not hipsters but love retro things and hate old trains anyway, such as all those conformists. It's puzzling - transit riders can be very interesting creatures, sometimes.
