  1. Yes there is a GO in effect giving the test train exclusive access to that track. Circle K refers to the key by method for that signal.
  2. I'm surprised how I could predict the exact moment that the cameraman was going to turn around. Why does EVERY subway runby get filmed that way???? ......I did not, however, predict him using the zoom.
  3. False, they want back to kindergarten. It's an easy way for them to verify where you've been living your whole life. Right now schoolcar is 2 weeks behind on everything, so if they told you January, it will either be late January or early February.
  4. What? I have 2 years and there were still two XL Handswitching jobs on the board when I picked....
  5. I'm on car 8380 right now and the FIND is showing Q10 to JFK at 121.
  6. A bit early to be wondering these things, don't you think? Maybe they'll do like on the and just hang paper signs in the windows?
  7. A driver's license doesn't prove your citizenship.......simply put, you need to have either a birth certificate or passport AND a social security card (or whatever they give out to foreigners who don't have a SSN). Also bring your high school or college diploma.
  8. A passport might be acceptable instead of a birth certificate, but you NEED a social security card to work anywhere in this country on the books.
  9. No, there aren't any 's which have E180 as the NORTH terminal this weekend. Or any other weekend.
  10. Nope. The 2227 Bowling Green-Dyer was the last of the night. The is handling overnight service.
  11. Nope, the crew is just running up and down the tracks yelling wheeeeeee I'm a 188!!!!!!"
  12. Because if you owe thousands of dollars somewhere, they want to know about it. People with poor credit also tend to be less trustworthy. I haven't ever heard of someone being denied a job here due to credit tho...
  13. Dyre is taking Dispatcher cues from Flatbush. 2s turning into 5s!
  14. Part of the duties of a CR are being qualified to throw switches. Multiple yards (207, ENY , 38 etc) as well as both A and B mainline have hand thrown switches.
  15. Yes, there will be a chance. It's unlikely that ALL of the 188's will be delivered by October.
  16. There was a broken rail on tk 1 just south of 125. My got rerouted down the West Side, and they were sending/turning Lex trains all over the place.
  17. Yes. Even the work trains are compatible with the Countdown Clocks.
  18. Yes yes, get all of the 188 photos NOW because it's not like they'll be running for the next 30 years......
  19. Expect to see the R188's running in test service on the middle tracks on the Dyre line and WPR middays during the week starting NOW. They'll be running in test mode on the Flushing line early next year, and are expected to go into customer service in May 2013......soon after we'll start seeing the 62's showing up on the as well as they begin the fleet swaps.
  20. One of the Dyre shuttle jobs pays (1059) AND has night differential and OPTO bonuses, so is certainly the highest paying road job here. The T/O who picked it has seniority of 40.
  21. Had a talk with some of the Corona cat equipment folk last night. Not only are the 62As still on track to go to Westchester, but Westchester is "making all kinda of crazy modification demands" before they will accept the fleet, which is why they keep doing all those transfers to 207 to prepare them. If you take nothing else from this post, please take the part where I said THE R62As ARE GOING TO WESTCHESTER. END OF STORY, END OF DEBATE.
  22. In my experience, most of the procedures you learn in school car will be completely different in the real world. Nothing like having to troubleshoot a door problem when you have a crowded train staring at you, instead of just you classmates. Let schoolcar teach you everything. Do NOT start using outside sources (especially not this forum) to start studying on your own, as OUR experiences aren't what you are going to get tested on. Your instructors will assume you know NOTHING about railroading on day 1, so keep it that way.
