  2. I guess I can throw in a random comment dealing with the new 90 schedule since that's a line I usually catch I'm surprised how many trips they are taking off because I sure didn't think that was a line with low ridership to the point that 5 weekday trips going towards Irvington and about 7 weekday trips going towards Newark are gone now. And two Sunday morning trips are gone. I haven't noticed anything different with the Saturday schedule. If anyone feels like comparing in case I missed anything then here are the links https://d2g63oyneaimm8.cloudfront.net/sites/default/files/bus_schedules/T0090.pdf https://d2g63oyneaimm8.cloudfront.net/sites/default/files/bus_schedules/upcoming/20210401/T0090.pdf

  4. Well, after a few months, NJ Transit started letting people board the front door and accepting cash fares today. From this link on the website: https://www.njtransit.com/press-releases/cash-fares-and-front-door-boarding-resume-nj-transit-buses-august-3rd And it was on the news. There was people complaining and I noticed a few people staying behind once they caught on that they had to pay and some was still trying to get on from the back only to stay once they noticed.
  5. Have a random picture of the 20802 on the 39 since it was right behind me after I got off the 27
  6. Now I'm noticing that NJ Transit is either adding some more service or switching the type of bus being used. Even though in an article last week it was saying that they were doing just that on some lines. Hilton is using Neoplans on the 1 and 25 much more often now since this morning I saw 5 of them on the 1 line but most of them was ending/beginning at the 16th Ave and 20th Street loop. And I noticed one on the 25. It helps with the crowding issues over here at least.
  7. Well it's actually true-ish While on the website/Travel Alerts and Advisories section for the buses, it does say "Travel should be limited to essential personnel only" That's about it to be honest. I'm just a random guy and I'm getting on the buses with no problem and I'm pretty sure the other 8-10 people I see on the buses also are just like me. None of the drivers are saying anything.
  8. Well from what I'm seeing, the schedule change of Saturday instead of normal Weekday is really not working out at all for certain lines like the 1, 25 and 62 --- Out of the 5 times I caught the bus today, each had almost 10 people or more for the available seats I get on the 25 and it was almost "full" Some 1's are being a no show which isn't helping and will just make the bus even more packed. And mybusnow isn't working until further notice so I can't really confirm that to see what's going on. The 62 was super packed around 5am from what I was told . Probably a lot of airport workers. --- NJ Transit really should have kept a weekday schedule still for the lines that gets the most people even in this situation. but, those are my thoughts and what I noticed today.
  9. I can only imagine the amount of money they are losing from what is basically free bus rides. Eh, free rides is free rides and I'm not complaining haha. I'm still going to have the bus fare on me though. I got on the 90 earlier with the bus fare on me not that it mattered anyway since there was yellow tape blocking the path to the front. After that I got on the 1 but this time there was no yellow tape blocking the path, but I just sat down. Neither driver said anything. Just get on the bus from the back, sit down and that's it. The only reason why I bring that up is because this article was saying - “It’s a precaution to expand social distancing as much as can. We expect customers to pay. They can walk to front of bus and pay,”. It's like they can't make up their mind - https://www.nj.com/coronavirus/2020/03/nj-transit-cuts-back-on-light-rail-changes-bus-riding-rules-to-help-with-social-distancing.html Though my mother was telling me that on the GO28 at least during the times that she catches it that the driver would be more strict. Really just depends on the driver then.
  10. So I randomly checked mybusnow and i see the 20044 on the 25 and then refreshed it again and it dissapeared but I took a screenshot at least. That would be really surprising to see one of those on a Hilton route.
  11. Saw it myself earlier also when I was walking to the bus terminal close to 12pm.
  12. Looking at mybusnow just now, the 20801 is on the 13T
  13. While in Irvington earlier, I saw a Neoplan 9544 pulling into the bus terminal with the sign saying 48 Rahway followed by 13M before switching it to 13B While I'm pretty sure it was just the driver having a bit of fun with the sign, it was still random to see.
  14. I'm not so sure about the new 1 schedule. Seems like the added trips were added for the weekend mornings mostly. And it seems like weekday afternoon rush hasn't been touched which will still be a serious problem with the over crowding conditions from students getting out of school. And I should know because of all the times I had to wait more than 20 minutes at times because a few 1's in a row would come extremely packed or just not bother stopping at all when it's not as full because the bus stop will have more than 10 people waiting.
  15. It's this group that you need to join to see the pictures - https://www.facebook.com/groups/746868935386302/
  16. Looking at the seats, it's going to suck for anyone who sits on them for a long amount of time haha.
  17. They should make the 40 skip those areas and only have select trips serve those areas when people are going to and leaving work. Been enough times in the past that I would catch the 40 to the mall and have it be a waste of time when the drivers go through the port newark area (Like Export and Tyler streets) and no one is there to get off or catch it. And that area adds like 7-8 minutes more.
  18. Updated schedules for the 355, 356, 703 and 772. Nothing different for the 85 for some weird reason 355 - https://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0355.pdf 356 - https://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0356.pdf 703 - https://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0703.pdf 772 - https://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0772.pdf
  19. The schedules for the 355 and 356 lines are posted 355 - https://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0355.pdf 356 - https://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0356.pdf Which is only for the 25th to the 27th apparently. Unless an updated one will come out afterwards.
  20. Over on mybusnow, they have the 355 and 356 already. No schedules yet though.
  21. It's for the best really. Bad enough when I get on those neoplans, those seats have seen so much sitting use in 15+ years that you can pretty much feel the unpleasant springs? With how flat the seats have gotten. Same problem with the older nabis that don't have the leather type seating.
  22. For me it would be Catch the 1 to Penn Station which would be $1.60 or $3.20 round trip Then the 78 when it's running to Secaucus Junction which is $3.15 or $6.30 round trip And from there the 356. So overall I would be spending at least $14.60 in bus fare between the three lines.
  23. I wouldn't be surprised if the 356 gets more ridership since it's only $2.55 one way or $5.10 round trip. Should be an interesting first day to see which of the two lines gets more riders.
  24. Well at least the 356 will be a whole lot cheaper which is fine for someone like me if I ever go there. https://www.nj.com/traffic/2019/10/the-only-mass-transit-to-the-american-dream-mall-is-the-bus-and-its-going-to-be-pricey.html
