  1. The current list requested 500 vacancies back in March. The previous one also requested 500 and that one started last year in August '21 so it looks like seven months. So hopefully, we'll hear something in October.
  2. If you looked in the past couple pages, you would've saw that someone who was 63XX was just hired a few days ago. I know someone who restored his name back in May. Another person here restored their name back in April. Right now it's a waiting game to see when Transit will request a new certified list to bring them back.
  3. Not everything Transit wants you to do is something you should do. Printing over 300 pages on your own dime is unreasonable and in the end not an official copy of the rulebook. This is Transit, they can provide a copy.
  4. This is what I'm using right now. Just like the Kaka bag, you can stow away the straps so they won't hang and you can carry it like a duffel bag. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074SHJ8ZD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  5. It'll be good for your time during school car. When you're on the road, get something more comfortable.
  6. For those of you who just started, did school car give you a copy of the rulebook?
  7. I'll echo the sentiment to not print the rulebook. Have school car provide you with a copy. Someone who went through school car recently can certainly chime in, but I'm going to assume you'll get one when they hand out your tools.
  8. Why would you print it. Just get one from schoolcar.
  9. As beanz said you should've received one when you were at 180. By rule, you are suppose to have your own copy of the rulebook on hand.
  10. Why would you print it. Just get one from schoolcar.
  11. Unfortunately no. Transit calls more people than they need because not everyone wants the job or make it past medical. When they finish filling out the last class, that's it.
  12. You didn't go for any of the temp jobs? Those were probably the only ones you were possibly able to win. I won a temp job and so far I'm still rolling with it.
  13. You learn to operate a train and troubleshoot the various issues that may occur. The 7 and the L line can be automatic at times, but you still need to be able to operate manually.
  14. You misunderstand. His list number is still pretty far back to be called to medical. He may have to do another drug test in the meantime.
  15. Looking back at your posts, it seems like you actually sent the email on 8/15/21. The list was recertified on 8/18/21, so it looks like you just made it. IIRC, the last person sworn after medical was in the low 5000s so you just have to wait your turn. You may actually have to do another drug test.
  16. What is your list #? 5XXX? Yes, you are on 6601. Transit sends a request to DCAS for a certified list of candidates to fill a certain number of vacancies. When it's exhausted they start over again. You may not make it to a certified list if you deferred, could not complete your pre-employment, or medical, etc. For example, I know someone who went in for medical back in November, but was not hired as Transit doctors wanted him to get documentation from his own doctors for the medical issues he had disclosed. The current certified list was made back in March, but he emailed DCAS in May to be reinstated. So now he has to wait for the next certified list to be on it.
  17. Probably not. When you fill out the medical questionairre, just remember they don't have access to your medical file...
  18. Don't worry about it. Just wait for the first day you report to order them. Chances are your info will be updated by then.
  19. Yes and as I stated, I think they're waiting to hire for all 500 vacancies in the current list before they certify a new one which will include Watato and all the other people who had to reinstate their name onto the list.
