  1. LIRR still has its fare share of problems, especially with fare evasion. When COVID was still a thing, a lot of conductors let stuff like fare beating go, and now people think that’s the norm when someone who tries to do their job with enforcing the fare is met with pushback and/or irate behavior. I just hope the example the subway is setting this year also spreads to the other agencies that fare evasion can not and will not be tolerated.
  2. They’re getting MORE??? What garage can even handle more artics at this point?
  3. They did officially say the revenue test got pushed to March 2024 back in December.
  4. Well, the R211S pilot revenue service is now late indefinitely. So much for a March testing date.
  5. 2176 has been confirmed retired due to frame damage and will be used as parts for the rest of the R62A fleet.
  6. I’m slightly confused, when I did the 308 it was always a tripper and not a straight run? Unless you literally mean they need the bus back at the depot to do another run?
  7. I’m curious, did SF pay a subsidy to NJT to run it?
  8. I mean in his defense, they did run the to 145th St when the was out, although I forgot the reason why.
  9. Oh they finished it? Wow, thought it would’ve taken them longer.
  10. Where else are you going to run the ? My main concern is that they want to run near-late night headways on one of the busiest Broadway Locals on a weekend. That’s why I offered 96th St at first, then 21st St (but I forgot the shuttle is going away this weekend), then Queens Plaza (have the go via 63rd St).
  11. And why not cut the between Prospect Park & 96th St/2nd Av while they continue 7th Av’s track work and fit the on 2nd? Solves both issues.
  12. It’s one of their most profitable routes though, why cut it??
  13. https://www.njtransit.com/sixflags it’s confirmed. RIP route 308. You will be missed.
  14. That seems completely unnecessary. Split the by alternating between 96th St and Astoria so everyone isn’t waiting 15 minutes for a train.
  15. Oh, my bad. Someone also said to install fare gates like these along the Atlantic Branch of the LIRR and Melrose & Tremont of MNRR.
  16. The full tall ones? Like the one on the uptown platform at 225th St.
  17. That is what we had in the past, not sure when or why NYCTA transitioned to the fare gates we have now.
  18. From twitter: According to the NYPD, farebeating is the #1 complaint from the riding public. As usual, it’s caused some controversy among elected officials and the comments are mixed reactions. What are your thoughts?
  19. And it has to be at the window, which I always thought was dumb that you couldn't buy it on the app.
  20. Actually, they were fully planning on using those new 500's on the 4C's because they thought the riding public wouldn't care. That was quickly changed the two times a 500 ran on the 4C and the county got over 100 complaints. I also wouldn't count on the 4C going away just yet, the last three times they tried to get rid of it, the public fought to keep it.
  21. Because the entitlement is off the charts. Not to mention those that don't pay, and then openly smoke or vape weed or god knows what else in the back of that bus, and then still have the sense that they are in the right! But i do agree that making the bus system free is not the solution. The same way congestion pricing also isn't the solution, the "congestion" from before the pandemic just isn't there to justify it.
