  2. Great Idea. However, I'd say keep the on WPR, and have the on Jerome. The then runs as a Mid-Bronx Line up Third Av. For western Bx service, I'd have that be SAS service (I'll post a map link soon). Then we'd have the to Woodlawn (or maybe even Mount Vernon MNRR via EXPRESS, and the to Burnside via LOCAL, then across the Bronx to Throgs Neck. North of burnside is a 3-track line for service, all s run local. s go to Astoria and s go to Forest Hills under this plan, BTW. Ideas on this?
  3. Here it is! https://new.mta.info/agency/new-york-city-transit/subway-bus-ridership-2019 Beach 105 St is now least used!
  4. 17130 is down there again, so it must be that. To which hospitals?
  5. @I love NY this should be in the Regional Transit Systems Thread @Cait Sith @Harry @SevenEleven @Deucey @+Young+ or one of the other mods, could you move it there?
  6. I really like this plan overall, but I just have a few questions. I would propose this: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1rgPTPWyK7cew2ZSsKJ7t9VddfWIRfTVD&usp=sharing In addition to a 6-track tunnel from GCT/Penn to Atlantic (with local stops, the only intermediate express stop is Union Sq), trains would use the 8-track tunnel from Chatham Sq to Brooklyn Heights, allowing for trains to run in Montague. The tunnel would also connect with the at Jay St. So, via 53rd-Local and via 63rd-express? And exp LCL? also, the should be brighton exp if it is CPW lcl. So you'd have: Lenox-149-WPR (peak <2> express or no?) Lenox-149-Dyre (peak <3> express or no?) Lex-Jerome-Woodlawn (peak express or no?) Lex-Jerome-Burnside (peak express or no?) 135-148 Agreed!
  7. The best bare minimum? Cut all expresses, run locals only when they are alone. Cut service to stations that are double-served. That'd look like this: -regular -via Lex -149 to 96, shuttle 135 to 148 -replaces in Bklyn, local in Manhattan -Dyre Shuttle -125 to PBP -cut -regular -cut -local -cut -cut -regular -local -regular -cut -cut to Bergen -extended to 95 -regular -Myrtle Shuttle -local via tunnel -regular -cut 42 -cut Rockaway -cut, use Q22 or Q53 Franklin -cut, use B49 -cut -cut So, summary: and all s are cut. are local only are extended are limited service run regular. This good?
  8. Really? Can you find an example?
  9. I asked about all GWB routes, and... 7405 and 7810 are on the 178 and 7977 is on the 171
  10. What if: Due to deferred maintenance, a train derails at Delancey-Essex, and then starts a fire in the old trolley terminal, which completely destroys the station. A small earthquake on the eastern end of the 125th St Fault Line hits, and the following areas are closed due to an abundance of caution 77th to 125th Roosevelt to 21st 96th to 72nd (you CAN turn trains at 72nd) MNRR 125th to 97th Portal A broken rail causes the switch to fail southbound at 34th, meaning no trains can run on the local track SB REROUTE!
  11. I suggested an extended M72 from 55 St/11 Av, via Riverside Blvd, then crosstown via 72-CPW-79-5/Madison-72 It's just usually faster than 66th, that was the rationale.
  12. So the m100 is now an artic route, and the bx15 is a standard 40-foot? Covid-19 makes for weird fleets!
  13. I understand that 110th is well served. What do you think a better M106 conversion would be? I would not retain the M57. The M31 would get a boost and become the sole 57 St Xtown. You are right that the M62 doesn't need SBS, though. Do you think it'd need artics, or would XD40s do?
  14. Ok, understood Would that connect to Greenpoint? Also, what streets would it take between Park Av and Red Hook?
  15. I agree. I'd have on Brighton ( exp), on 4th Local to Bay Ridge, on West End ( exp), and on Sea Beach ( exp)
  16. Not really! Some parts of the line are almost a mile away from a station. It is directly under (or over) the BQE except when in tunnels, and south of 15 St. Answers in purple. I'd be ok with that if the following things happened: new station at 11 Av-18 St in Windsor Terrace extended down Ocean Pkwy to at least Av J extended to 18 Av However, I still think that it'd be better to run LRT on my proposed route. Also, how would you route a LRT line that goes to Red Hook? there's really no room to make a ROW, so it'd have to be street running, which is a massive cause for delays (as @engineerboy6561 and @B35 via Church have both said.) That's meant to be the Manhattan Branch, providing connections to Manhattan, and connecting (either directly or within a 5-min walk) with the in Manhattan. Also, Two Bridges isn't served that well. You only have one station (E Bway ), and since the LRT would have to run somewhere, I figured that this is the best route.
  17. Ok, here is my Cross-Brooklyn Light Rail (CBLR): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Myal082wT4FSbb4xP0FBvuDk9Q1qcGPZmY3UGbSS5Us/edit?usp=sharing The reason I'm linking the doc instead of just copy-pasting here is that some of the images didn't input. If anyone has any thoughts, critiques, things to change, feel free to post them here! Thanks!
  18. : via Lex : ends at SF, extended to New Lots, local. : extended to Bowling Green. : 95-Essex : 71-Whitehall : via b/t W4 & Jay ends at 2 Av : via to Metro end at Prospect Park. Franklin runs to Coney Island with 4-car sets, at shuttle stations only 2 cars open. via in Bklyn
  19. If the built a connection from the Manhattan Br to Nassau, could you theoretically short-turn some s there (if either the or were rerouted to the tunnel)
  20. M110: it is the better M106, actually serving 106th on the west side. M96: Yes, I thought so! M62: I think it should, but why do you think not? That's the current M31 down York. I would also propose making the M103 SBS, for faster service (that could become the connector)
  21. @OrionVIIonM79 @danig1220 @engineerboy6561 @Lex @WillF40PH @Mnrr6131 @MeeP15-9112 you guys may be interested in this: I made a proposal for a redesign of Central Park Crosstown Service: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1QYBRpZGFnKxDaT7PLt4XkvmCqXQ3li4p&usp=sharing Some notes: M110 Fleet: Orion VII NG (previous M106 fleet) Depot: MHV BPH: 15BPH rush, 10BPH non-rush, 3BPH nights Other notes: replaces M106, with different routing. M96+SBS+ Fleet: New Flyer Xcelsior XDE40 (these buses replace OGs) Depot: MHV BPH: 15BPH rush, 12BPH non-rush, 5BPH nights Other notes: M96 becomes +SBS+ route. M86+SBS+ Fleet: New Flyer Xcelsior XD60 and Nova Bus LFSA Depot: MJQ BPH: 20BPH rush, 12BPH non-rush, 6BPH nights Other notes: current M86 route except slight change on East Side M79+SBS+ Fleet: New Flyer Xcelsior XD60 and Nova Bus LFSA Depot: MJQ BPH: 18BPH rush, 10BPH non-rush, 5BPH nights Other notes: current M79 route except slight change on East Side M62+SBS+ Fleet: New Flyer Xcelsior XD40 (previous M72 fleet) Depot: MJQ BPH: 12BPH rush, 8BPH non-rush, 3BPH nights Other notes: replaces M72, with extensions and different routing. Thoughts?
  22. 4950 was in service 2 days ago on the M60, and 4955 was on the M86 yesterday. But, I just checked MTA.info, and there was nothing. BTW, @4P3607, do you still make signs? I just posted a request, and was wondering if you'd gotten it.
