  1. If we're talking about improving transit on Roosevelt Island, I'd propose the following: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sUYGIUN8SSc9CVfU1tl88DeRU4mC9z8m&usp=sharing An underground trolleybus line. The line would be underground between 31 St and Roosevelt Island on the LGA Branch, 1 Av and Roosevelt Island on the North Manhattan Branch, 1 Av and Roosevelt Island on the South Manhattan Branch, and the entire Queens Plaza branch. Fleet: New Flyer Xcelsior XT60 (would this warrant enough ridership for a 60' bus? Would it be better to have a XT40 or XT35?) Ideally, 30 BPH on the core line, 15 BPH on each branch. The service patterns would be: 79 ST - ROOSEVELT ISLAND - QUEENS PLAZA 34 ST - ROOSEVELT ISLAND - LGA Long Island City and Octagon would be transfer points with island platforms. Thoughts @danig1220 @engineerboy6561 @Lex?
  2. For NB buses that is what they'd do. SB buses would run down to Overlook and up Overlook to FW.

  4. This is BRT, so no trolley tracks. what routes do you think wouldn't get ridership?
  5. Thought I'd post this here. Here's my BRT (posted in Bus Proposals): Thoughts @Around the Horn @LaGuardia Link N Tra @Theli11 @Collin @Union Tpke?
  6. Here is my BRT proposal for NYC: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1j_wlFJAcmGKzZe-YF-FgEIqqDfz_58NC&usp=sharing Thoughts @engineerboy6561 @danig1220 @OrionVIIonM79 @Lex?
  7. What do you mean by the"round-robin "
  8. I mean buses They do, not a lot though. Most are Flipdot D4500s.
  9. This is LRT, not streetcars, and would run on dedicated ROWs.
  10. @Theli11 just a note, the is on 41st and the is on 42nd. Hope that helps!
  11. Ok, what corridors could use trams in NYC? I think (just off the top of my head): Union Tpke Northern Blvd BQE north of Navy St Francis Lewis Blvd Astoria Blvd Queens Blvd 3 Av (Bklyn) Kings Hwy Flatbush Av McGuiness Blvd Pelham Pkwy Mosholu Pkwy Flushing Av Main St Queens Jewel Av Assuming we don't want to duplicate subway service, then we have: Union Tpke Northern Blvd BQE north of Navy St Francis Lewis Blvd Kings Hwy Flatbush Av Pelham Pkwy Mosholu Pkwy Flushing Av Main St Queens Jewel Av That's still quite a few corridors, but not all are suitable for trams for their whole length, and some would be better served by subway/BRT extensions. Of these, we now have Union Tpke Northern Blvd west of Flushing BQE north of Navy St Main St Queens So, I think that the those tram lines could work, and they would all be median-running LRTs: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Jo4-6UtxakKdVubc7TsN8aNwJ8y1uJo8&usp=sharing All trains would run CAF Urbos 3s, as there would be no catenaries on the following sections: Queensboro Bridge Lee Av to Metropolitan Av on the BQE Line Kew Gardens/Jamaica Branches of Union Link South of Union Tpke on the QueensLink Thoughts on these @LaGuardia Link N Tra @Around the Horn @Union Tpke @Collin @Theli11?
  12. Sorry, but I think that all of these lines serve UNDERSERVED areas with limited connections to Manhattan. What do you mean by a shuttle?
  13. Taking your advice, I decided to make a citywide map with only 4 lines: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kD-DhS5RsZVFOBw8jLX5y9uhQrFwsNhb&usp=sharing Thoughts on the best fleet? I know the Greenpoint Link has to run a battery tram (of which I think the Urbos 3 is the best), but any ideas on the fleet for the other lines?
  14. No, it's because I think that a line through Eastern Astoria would serve that community better than the current bus lines.
  15. Couldn't they run it 215-Atlantic and say take the to for 242? (or run a special bus from 215-242?
  16. The Northern line would serve the area better. Also, the TPH would be the following: NORTHERN LINE 79 ST-31 AV: 20TPH RUSH, 15TPH NON-RUSH 31 AV-LGA: 10TPH RUSH, 7.5TPH NON-RUSH 31 AV-CORONA: 10TPH RUSH, 7.5TPH NON-RUSH MIDLINK: 15TPH RUSH, 10TPH NON-RUSH CROSSLINK: BORO HALL-ELMHURST: 15TPH ELMHURST-CORONA: 7.5TPH ELMHURST-CORONA:7.5TPH MID-QUEENS LINE 20TPH RUSH, 12TPH NON-RUSH
  17. @LaGuardia Link N Tra Another QBL/ relief line: Some lines would serve as good relief lines. Thoughts @Theli11 @Collin @Union Tpke? https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zHS7VAIXr8VH-f42_ANBY4Yl0h0dg8Hm&usp=sharing
