  1. https://www.nytransitmuseum.org/holidaynostalgiarides/ R1/9 running between 145 St and 2 Av express. December 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, basically every Saturday of that month. The Holiday Nostalgia Train departs 2nd Avenue on the uptown F line in Lower Manhattan at: 10am, 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm The Holiday Nostalgia Train departs 145th Street on the downtown D line at: 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm
  2. The vibe of the video of the R211T along Astoria especially at a rehabilitated station makes this look sick honestly.
  3. Multiple Changes Southbound trains are running on the line from 149 St-Grand Concourse to Nevins St. No train service between 96 St and 148 St in both directions. Emergency teams are responding to someone who was struck by a train at 135 St. Northbound trains will end at 96 St or 137 St-City College on the line. Expect a longer wait for northbound trains while they share the track with rerouted trains. trains are delayed in both directions. Listen to announcements to hear how your train will operate. Travel Alternatives: For service between Harlem-148 St and 96 St consider taking the M7 or M10 bus. Posted: 10/27/2023 06:04 PM
  4. Credit to original photographer. Adapted from tracking server by BentheMiner: R32 3389, now renamed LT001, has received cosmetic and functional changes as a laser train for the Staten Island Railway.
  5. Not my photos, yet again obviously credit to original photographer. Random R46 was running around along QBL about over an hour ago.
  6. Not my photos, credit to original photographers. Taken around 7:40 today, second car (101) of the R211S should be loaded onto a flatbed truck and heading to SI.
  7. LMFAO, forgot to mention it's not my photo, all credit to Gregory Grice.
  8. R211S 100 at Clifton, they're shipping one by one, but now it's official.
  9. They don't really have a reason to be delivered outside of SI, so yes.

  11. One thing I'm realizing when it comes to the Needs Assessment is there are zero mentions of anything to do with LaGuardia. Though I shouldn't be surprised that it wouldn't be considered, but the fact they completely skipped over an extension or better transportation to LaGuardia is pretty surprising to say the least.
  12. Hate to break it to you, but I highly doubt they would ever bother with a track connection to CPW because of what they mentioned in their report here on page 25 https://future.mta.info/documents/20-YearNeedsAssessment_ComparativeEvaluation.pdf. I knew they probably wouldn't consider the connection, but I'm disappointed they decided to not take a further look into the analysis. Oh well, on the bright side, it looks like the MTA might actually be considering a crosstown 125 St seeing as there are incentives around this that even the MTA can't ignore. Personally, they should postpone Phase 3 for the time being and let the Crosstown-125 St extension be the new Phase 3.
  13. Better than the previous price honestly, it was $8 Billion last time, this is about $2B cheaper.
  14. A further look into the Needs Assessment they released a couple of years ago or so. Here is the link for the more further expanded stuff on expansion with a whole chart and stuff. There are some things I want to talk about real quick: The extension for the New Lots Branch to Flatlands Av for the line is estimated to have a construction going for $1.7 Billion. That is quite the high price for a such a short extension especially from an elevated line, but I'm guessing they would need to acquire a lot or properties before ever attempting such. Still sounds like total BS to me, but maybe I just don't know. The RBB is now estimated to be about $6 Billion which is, what, $2B cheaper than the last time they had construction costs estimated? I want to say things like "progress" or "small steps, but heading in the right direction," but I don't think that's enough. Either way, still sounds like BS, but whatever. A whopping $13 Billion for Phase 3 of the SAS construction cost, really going out of their way for all this. Guess we'll see how well that turns out if it ever even comes to fruition in our lifetime or ever. Now I'm really pissed off with the pricing of this, but at the same time I don't think I should. A crosstown extension along 125 St for SAS is going for $7.5 Billion, though I understand what they would be constructing through such as the fault line and existing stations like along CPW and Lenox Av. I'm disappointed they didn't include a connection to the CPW which would be really great for a few reasons, but I assume the connection would increase the cost by a billion extra. This next one just doesn't make any sense, almost $2 Billion to add in the 10th Av station for the . Don't know what else to say really other than sure, whatever, I give up trying to understand, I concede. The Nostrand Junction capacity improvements (I wonder what they really mean by this) is stated to cost $410 Million. Don't really have anything else to say, was expecting more ngl, can't really tell if it's good or bad. 3 different options for Utica Av BRT $220M (yeah sure, good luck with that) full subway service to Kings Plaza $15 Billion (yes, you read that right if you also find it complete bullshit) Subway to Church with BRT to Kings Plaza $6 Billion (also just as bullshit) This last one gave me a laugh cause it really just isn't worth the investment even with the price actually being reasonable. The extension to Red Hook costs $11 Billion, but it's not worth either way cause of the area just not really attracting enough attention. Unless the area sees some kind of redevelopment or whatever or a huge rise, better off not bothering with the extension, especially if the is involved. Last thing that's needed is to make the more worse.
  15. If the and were to swap, it would be just similar to what the did prior to the 63 St connection to QBL that being trains running along 63 St whenever the isn't along 6th Av. It would still 100% stay express either way when doing so, unfair for 63 St riders seeing as they get shafted to local trains from 63 St while express during weekends. Definitely be confusing at first, but people will adapt and get used to it in like 2 weeks or so.
  16. And you would run them where exactly outside of heading into Queens? That's like having the running along QBL with the which isn't doing either lines along with the any favors. If, and that's a big if, you were to do this, I would have it running into Brooklyn to Church Av normal service and Kings Highway for rush hour to help with the lack of service that it's going to be dealing with. Even the, who knows how well that would've worked out because there's still the decrease in service overall across those lines.
  17. Not my image, NYPD are now on the lookout for them. The fact these dudes decided to not only trespass into an area they are not supposed to or allowed to be in, fooling around, but also grab a boulder and throw it at a moving train in the front of the train while injuring the operator. This easily could've gotten a lot worse like say derail the train in the process had the boulder landed on the tracks especially with how big that mf was.
  18. I guess they weren't kidding when they said they'd have like a robot running around or whatever. This thing definitely is going to get pushed off for sure.
  19. Sound file slowly becoming more corrupt each upload, strange how the R179 doesn't sound as bad, but maybe it's got something to do with the different sound systems or whatever.
  20. Something something track work or whatever. I'm betting they're working on the connection that leads directly to the express tracks from Queens forcing the to run to the local tracks while the is still free to access the express tracks from the yard leads. This works because at least dispatch will just time when the or is able to depart and just have them crossover each other instead of the having to wait to enter Euclid because of the already there.
  21. Personally, one of the biggests reasons for me at least why if the gets R211's would be a dealbreaker is because of the lack of seats. It's like you said, the 75 footers felt like luxury subway cars and I'm hoping when the gets NTT's, it would hopefully be the R160's or even out of nowhere the R179's. Haven't heard much positive things when it came to the R211 from operators mainly not cause of the cameras which I'm surprised a bunch of people think that's the case (it isn't), but moreso of how it feels to operate especially the positioning of the throttle and the tight spacing between max braking and just straight up dumping the train. Those are really the only complaints I've heard, I still have yet to ride the R211 and I doubt I would any time soon since I literally have no reason to ever ride the .
  22. Yikes, sounds like an R46 having issues. Luckily, the operator was able to get the train back up and running before it was taken out of service.
  23. The R44 has a mini cab door that the crew goes through and that there's a rectangle glass part to where you're standing or entering and exiting the train. https://orenstransitpage.com/transit-photography/united-states/new-york-city/new-york-city-subway-retired-rolling-stock/r44-cars/ The R46, however has a larger sliding door in entrance. No glass portion unlike the R44 on the interior. https://www.myclallamcounty.com/2020/05/06/historic-new-york-city-subway-shutdown-for-cleaning-deemed-successful/ There's also different shade of color on the sides in between in bumps on the R44, forgot why that's the case. The SIR's R44 oddly enough doesn't have this.
