  1. Didn't it go out of service cause of door issues or was that another thing to pile on?
  2. Reroute trains are severely disrupted in both directions while we perform urgent track maintenance near 59 St-Columbus Circle. Service Changes: Southbound trains will run local from 145 St to 59 St-Columbus Circle. Some southbound trains will run via the line from 59 St-Columbus Circle to Jay St-MetroTech, then via the to Coney Island-Stillwell Av. Southbound trains will run express from 145 St to Canal St. Some southbound trains will end at 2 Av on the line. Listen to announcements to hear how your train will run. BOARDING CHANGE: Board southbound trains on the A platform at 34 St-Penn Station. Travel Alternatives: For service between 50 St and Canal St, take an train. Consider taking a or train for service on the west side of Manhattan. For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, consider taking an or train. Posted: 02/05/2024 06:39 PM Side note: Some trains were also rerouted via 8 Av as well.
  3. Same difference either way, it's on just one consist for normal production/A type cars when it should be across all R211's regardless of what consist or kind of car it is.
  4. Lemme guess, yes it got rerouted and no because it wasn't in service?
  5. Because there was a Gothamist article I posted earlier in this page that had politicians wanting to see the return to QBL after CBTC construction for the full time shutdown if it were to occur.
  6. https://gothamist.com/news/mtas-fancy-new-open-gangway-subway-trains-cant-run-on-express-tracks-per-memo And now the news has caught wind of the leaked bulletin. Can't say I should be surprised, it was bound to happen sooner or later.
  7. https://gothamist.com/news/politicians-demand-bigger-g-train-upgrades-during-summer-shutdown-of-line I'm glad we're not hearing much of, "Don't shutdown the , do something similar like the ," or whatever along those lines (pun entirely intended) from politicians and instead are asking for something in return.
  8. The news also caught wind of this, wonder when construction will start if they're saying the MTA is moving forward.
  9. Prototype trains, Kamen Rider has mentioned this on numerous occasions, they are prototype trains. Changes could happen later on in the future where productions sets from option 2 (if chosen) of the open gangway will have no issues of running at all. They could also easily pull an R110 and just completely get rid of it entirely focusing on the R211A's. Right now, they can only run on the local tracks and only on the line, any GO's or reroutes forces the R211T's to go out of service if it's affected. I'm not going to make any speculations on whether or not the R211T is allowed to reroute to other lines such as 6 Av for example. Probably for the better to not give myself a headache and probably make myself look like an idiot.
  10. https://new.mta.info/document/131306 If all is done optimally (let's be real, it won't), we could potentially see SAS Phase 2 done in the next 6 years or so.
  11. Finally, someone put it into words, a lot of people keep glossing over that fact. Personally, I'm glad something is happening and hopefully the MTA keeps up with that kind of consistency to continue trying and this would just be a phase to progress over to the next. PSD's aren't going to be coming any time soon, especially since we're still a very long way before the R262 pilot even makes its way touching NYCT tracks. Let's also not forget going off-topic for a minute with the R211's still taking their sweet time, we haven't had any new deliveries on the production set for months and we're nearing the 1 year mark since the R211A pilot set ran in service back in March 2023. Things like this are going to take time and needs to take time. Besides, I'm more worried about a certain other station that being West 8 St station on the line which explicitly points it out. Most likely, it would be done on the 's platform, but then the question arises whenever the sometimes reroutes along Culver and with them being R68's only.
  12. My guy, you're worried about the wrong things right now. We have trains like the R143 and R160 that are almost identically the same in terms of looks all around and the same with the R179's to it's predecessors. Best you move on from this because it's literally not worth talking about anymore.
  13. Personally, no. I'd rather the go into the Bronx and let the run the 125 St Crosstown service so that it can hit more subway lines. Especially considering the already has access to a lot of major areas and subway lines going through midtown Manhattan and hitting the heart of it at that. There are planned provisions from what I heard about SAS going into the Bronx. Only problem is that most of the people in charge don't really care, especially given other subway projects that have been looked at recently through the Needs Assessment report aren't even considered whether blatantly stated or subtle approach through the price. For example, the short extension for the from New Lots Av station towards Gateway Mall is $1.8 Billion. The only reason the extension was considered in the first place is because Livonia yard is planned for a reconstruction so the MTA thought to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Normally, that's okay, but the pricing is way too extreme and yes even with the reconstruction for the yard it still is too much in my opinion. Another outragous example is the Utica Av subway which they put the cost to be nearly $16 Billion which the MTA is blatantly favoring a BRT along it instead. You're more than welcome to look at what I'm talking about here.
  14. Spoilers: You're not the first person to have suggested that, there have been hundreds of others not even on just this forum that have proposed this.
  15. Credits to truelgafoamer. I'm hearing that it's probably the production set of the R211S, don't take my word for it, but I guess it's not that far of a stretch since the R211A production set came in before the pilot even started revenue testing.
  16. Credit to the original photographer: There is an R142A (7641-7645 and an unknown set) that is idling in Pitkin Yard. It was transferred over last night getting new equipment like new brakes and has cables all throughout the car likely to be tested. Apparently this same exact set wasn't seen in service for weeks.
  17. I brought it up in random topic thread because it also included other stuff like the IBX going into engineering process and some other stuff, but it got buried.
  18. https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-hochul-announces-plans-expand-major-transit-projects-and-improve-roadway-safety Glad to see the potential of a westward extension is being realized.
  19. https://new.mta.info/press-release/icymi-governor-hochul-announces-full-service-be-restored-1-2-3-lines-overnight-west
  20. Something about the brakes not working cause it was already activated, hence why it was out of service in the first place.
  21. 7 Av is really not having a good day today Delays trains are delayed in both directions while we investigate a report of an unauthorized person on the tracks at Christopher St-Sheridan Sq. Posted: 01/04/2024 09:21 PM
  22. So... is it safe to say this is getting scrapped?
