  1. Do they have a lot of vacancies for cleaners right now?
  2. Of the three employers: Amtrak, Metro North, and Long Island Railroad, which one of the three do you think is the best agency to work for and why? If so, how does the other 2 not ranked above the best one compare also assuming the best is out of the talks?
  3. How come some of the station signs are red and green? Can they convert those stations to blue instead? Some people will find the colors annoying even if they’re minor issues.
  4. Does anyone know why M7 M8 and M9 cars aren’t used when traveling to further upper areas of NY or CT? Why do we see them only in Queens and Manhattan areas?
  5. You have to contact BSC or find somebody who can answer that. Hopefully you won’t, but bro, this is coming from the bottom of my heart, whatever you did in the past, leave it in the past if you get a job at MTA. Please do not try whatever you did over here because they could terminate your employment in an instant if they want. Good luck man.
  6. Not our fault we have a lot of customer service experience. They’re pointing fingers at us just for being truthful/honest?
  7. If I put down 3 jobs, each one has to total to 100 to become 300 or all 3 has to total to 100 only?
  8. I got this email too. And another issue is I can’t see anything in this thread right now.
  9. It took me 4-6 months to get an invitation to vocabulary and personality assessment for assistant conductor. Then BG and interview if you pass that. After that, they get you into Signals and Definitions. I didn’t make it that far, but that was how the process worked for me. If anything, you can try to start off as a cleaner or signalman and then wait 2-3 years before you can become an engineer, conductor, ticket usher, or any of that.
  10. @Two2Go pre COVID, how often does the LIRR conductor posting get posted on the site? Do they hire often?
  11. I think he can message @+Young+ he should be able to remove the post.
  12. Got passed pre screening for LIRR customer station ambassador, materials planning coordinator, and warehouse worker. Let’s see if I get contacted for any of them even though I’m already out of the pool for conductor
  13. Seems like if anybody gets into Lirr, they don’t need to think about metro north anymore, and same for vice versa… I hope everyone gets in somewhere.
  14. My perception about this hiring process so far is that I think you can have a great interview after the cognitive, but still not get picked for SD based on how well you did on the test. It seems like LIRR jobs are all exams based.
  15. I encourage you to keep checking on MTA careers site if you’re still interested in a career with the railroad. Metro North posts up its engineer or conductor posting I think once a year (can’t confirm it to be exactly true or not).
  16. I applied for this job a while ago, but never heard back.
  17. @drenyce311 and @Djf22 I’m still waiting to get interviewed with metro north. Will make the switch to MTA if offered the position that I applied for.
  18. Aren’t you glad you’re unionized? Those bad people could’ve easily got you out of that door without one.
  19. @drenyce311 what’s the work environment like over here? Do you have a lot of snitchers around? A lot of companies got these pests and goons hired and then consider getting other people fired secretively
  20. You already got in right? What’s your title/position?
  21. I’m scheduled for a cleaners interview at a later date with one of the RRs. Do you know what they’re looking for to hire somebody? I have tons of customer service and logistics experience on me with some manual labor, but idk if it’s enough to make the cut. I would be really happy if I got into metro north since its hiring process for conductors and engineers (especially for internals) seem to be a bit more fair than LIRR’s.
  22. Yes, I was humble about it in the LIRR thread. I’m definitely upset and disappointed, but I don’t have animosity towards the company except surprised that its hiring process consists of random things along with lack of responses/help. Mind I tell you I waited 4 weeks before I even got one question answered although I’ve tried reaching out to people like once or twice during that timeframe? It’s hectic, brutal. You clearly don’t understand people’s situations here and what they’re dealing with. If you looked into them better, this conversation wouldn’t have went out of its circle.
  23. Dunno what implications you’re making, but I haven’t seen or thought of you posting on here for months and all of a sudden you’re coming on here just to claim that you feel annoyed by random posts that were never addressed towards you? Also, instead of being hostile about me and Lawrence’s situations, what you could’ve done was calm us down, answer our inquiries, and try to understand the issues. Did you do that? All I see is you coming to look for a man-child level argument on a job forum. For a conductor yourself, I think you should know better than that.
