  1. Sad news everyone, 34th Street Hudson yards will receive platform barriers, I just saw the marks on the floor, this is a terrible idea since the station will look so off, and there is no reason to add barriers there at all😒
  2. Where’s the rest of the images at? The MTA doesn’t have it in their press release page
  3. Here is a quick useless fact: The Court Square Station on the was renovated in just 4 months, meanwhile it’s taking 11 months to renovate both 82nd and 111 Street stations.
  4. It seems like work is beginning to happen fast at both 82nd and 111 street stations, the new windscreens are beginning to see shape, for the first time the is seeing actual station renewals rather than the project being part of ADA accessible improvements renovation, which were seen in the past when Court Square and 74th Street were renovated. It took exactly 9 years for this project to see light, with each year passing, it seems like no contract was set at all.
  5. Yes, with this ridiculous 5 month delay, they’ll most likely close it down immediately. There is already construction scaffolding ready beneath the flushing bound platforms and behind the windscreens/walls of the station.
  6. It should be a permanent during this GO imo, maybe when the Grand Central 42nd street circulation improvements is 50% complete or so, the can run between hunters point and Hudson yards, I know it currently can’t because of such project, but it’s possible
  7. As you all know today, New York experienced a 4.8 Earthquake today, and I’m wondering what’s the protocol when an earthquake of this magnitude or larger happens on the subway?? Do the trains go on halt?
  8. I love the omny card now, I don’t need to insert the card inside the machine like the metrocard, I just scan it right through, I’m taking advantage now using it since the people in my area barely use the omny machines at Junction Blvd , I don’t need to wait in those long lines anymore
  9. I wonder why the MTA hasn’t made Mets Willets point accessible, when will the board members act and do something🤷‍♂️
  10. The contractors is finally installing the first pair of windscreens at 111 Street, and the white sheets have finally been removed to see the ongoing work, Also there is still work happening at 61st Street, not sure what they’re doing, but there’s been activity going on behind those blue walls
  11. The biggest April fools joke is when the MTA planned service changes always pushes the project for weeks….. hopefully the date doesn’t get changed again, pretty sure the community has the right to complain, 10-11 months of renovations is unacceptable, they can force the contractors to do their jobs quickly
  12. First day of service returning back to QBL and problems already started
  13. Lots of new 211 sets have entered service yet it still feels like there’s a bunch of 46’s in service
  14. Well on TikTok there was a video of an empty train picking up passengers at 149th and skipping every single stop just for these group of people/passengers….. they paid for this
  15. That’s not what people “wanted” they want barriers that will prevent those who want to and those that will be pushed, it causes delays either way, no point to add barriers if it won’t prevent any case
  16. Once again the project to renovate 82nd and 111 street has been delayed again for 4 weeks, this is getting ridiculous, these stations will never open, the contractors are horrible
  17. The 2 section service isn’t seen during this type of GO
  18. Surprisingly the has now received platform barriers at 5th avenue today, I don’t understand why the website still has the skipping 5th ave service change
  19. It was such a small order of 179’s, they should’ve replaced all the R32’s 46’s all at once from the , maybe a few 46’s can be sent over to other lines, during the CBTC car equipment switch, it would’ve been worth it, today the 211’s would’ve been running on the or
  20. So the will run in two sections: are not running between 74th Street Broadway and Times Square 42nd Street April 6-8 Because of accessibility improvements will run in two sections Flushing-Main St- 74th Street Broadway Times Square 42nd Street This service is pretty rare, hopefully they’d still use this in the future
  21. At Queensboro Plaza, the crews are replacing each stair, replacing the old 1990 renovated stair design, the platforms at the upper level were deteriorated before, now they’ve been replaced with brand new concrete platforms, one thing I dislike here is that they haven’t painted the structural support beams
  22. In Queens will skip Northern Blvd in both directions for accessibility improvements starting April 8th through early May
  23. service will be restored back to normal on April 1st according to the MTA https://new.mta.info/press-release/mta-announces-regular-service-being-restored-f-and-m-lines-following-critical-track the swap isn’t permanent by the way like many people speculated, will continue to run via 63rd street and via 53rd street
  24. Renovations are on their way at the Chambers streets and 190th street stations https://gothamist.com/news/mta-will-spend-100m-to-revitalize-2-grimy-historic-nyc-subway-stations it’ll take approximately 2 years to compete full renovations on both stations, the bid is still on going, no contract as of now
  25. Alright so here is a few changes I saw today while riding the between Mets willets and 74th street, 111 street is lacking on certain stuff, nothing new installed, just painting, while at 82nd street, new windscreens are being installed, they are the traditional ones seen on other renovated stations, something I found interesting is that the MTA hasn’t reused the fences on the outer part of the station like the or stations
