  1. So weird how the R211T sets have the extra features on and the other A sets don’t…..at this point I think the train operators just don’t want to turn them on or they forgot that protocol, not trynna offend any real TO’s here, it would be appreciative if someone could explain the reasoning thank you
  2. As of today at 111 street, the crews have installed new lighting at the end of the west end of the platform, and the barricades have been taken down completely, this week there will be a GO where the will run express from Main St to 74th Street this weekend for station improvements, hopefully lots is done by the end of February, both 82nd and 111 Street could reopen by February or March
  3. These yellow barriers should be scrapped, nobody likes them, there is lots of bad reviews from riders, this is a waste of money, the MTA should wait till the 3 station platform doors or barriers get installed at Times Square Stuphin 3rd Avenue , which unfortunately has no contract awarded yet for the project
  4. Right now at the Grand central 42nd St Station, the contractors have installed new steel structures above the station, seems like they are using advantage of the GO on the to complete work at the station
  5. This is the second time the MTA is reporting a track fire on the , yesterday it was reported that it had happened at Times Square and today at Grand Central, what is going on here……
  6. As of now there’s lack of official information, especially with the whole temporary platforms that are supposed to be installed at 46th, 40th, and 33rd street stations, with trains stopping at the middle track during station closures at 52nd and 69th street, the project at 61st street has been delayed as well, extending the suspension of express service from Queensboro to 74th street
  7. I like how the MTA is going to use the cut and cover method in this phase, it also seems like they’ve learned a lot from the first phase, lots of great changes, the 116 Street station renderings look awesome, the exposed steel pillars are so unique in the subway system
  8. Ok so….. apparently there is a “EXP MAIN ST-46 ST” program on the R188 …. Now for a few, this may be confusing, but this most likely has to do with the station renewal project on the , this is similar to what we have with the current “EXP 74 ST-MAIN ST” program, in theory, this most likely means the whole “temporarily platforms” along 46th,40th,33rd Street could become a thing, with express service only running in one direction at a time when the platforms close at 69th and 52nd street. By the way this source comes from jc.7.24 on instagram if you want to check out the image, posted on November 2nd 2023
  9. They finally realized how useless a huge station is
  10. A stainless steel fence would’ve been a better option than this horrendous design
  11. There will eventually be a 4th station to test these platform barriers according to the MTA website, it’s still to be determined, I honestly don’t like the design at all
  12. The yellow paint makes this thing look off
  13. Yes that’s exactly my point, with our current infrastructure, it’s just not possible to install it on all stations, people will still complain that their home station don’t got platform screen doors
  14. The plans might have changed, but if the temporary platforms do become a thing, than that means the will get a temporarily skip stop service to replace the , using the middle track at all times until whenever the project is finished, the same process will take place when the Flushing platforms are closed, it’ll give passengers the opportunity to transfer at 61st street for bypassed stations, the reason why the tracks will be closed off is probably because of structural repairs beneath the tracks at 61st Street, just a speculation I’m not sure
  15. We don’t need platform doors in the subway system, this is MTA not London Underground
  16. I believe the plans are to build temporary platforms at 46th, 40th and 33rd Street stations when 69th,61st, and 52nd street stations are closed, those were introduced on the community board meeting in July 2022, this plan still confuses me, not sure how it’ll work out
  17. Big news at the 61st-Woodside Station It looks like the contractors removed half of the Manhattan bound platform, which is a sign that the manhattan platforms will be entirely closed soon, lots of huge improvements are to come, possibly the closure of the 52nd and 69th street Manhattan platforms
  18. The design of the stations were shown to the board community in Queens, Turns out the stations will use the same windscreens as seen on previous renovated stations like the , but the big differences are that the contractors are fully rehabilitating the stations rather then reusing old platforms or fences.
  19. Every single yard has this issue, even the “most secured” Corona yard
  20. The roof at 82nd street has been completed, the last few steps are now adding the shell on top, and possibly new windscreens, I feel like the station will be opened by the end of February, as long as faster construction occurs at 111 street where both stations can open at the same time.
  21. The blame should go on social media platforms, they can’t take down any videos related to subway surfing, teenagers are condoning this behavior, thinking they’re tuff and cool….

  23. For the 85th Street-Forest pkwy Cypress hills 103 Street-Corona plaza 90th Street (not included in the station renewal project) 69th Street 52nd Street Mets-Willets point (not included in the station renewal project) The intervale station still has the old style wind screens, who knows if this station will ever get rehabilitated, hopefully by 2032 all the old wind screen stations are gone
  24. Great news for riders, The Station renewal project will be finished at the Jamaica bound platform Manhattan-bound skips 75 St-Elderts Ln Beginning Jan 15, Monday 5 AM until June 2024 Use nearby Cypress Hills or 85 St-Forest Pkwy stations. Additional travel alternatives: For service to this station, take the or to Cypress Hills and transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound or For service from this station, take the or to 85 St-Forest Pkwy and transfer to a Manhattan-bound or . Consider the Q56 bus making stops along Jamaica Ave. Note: Jamaica Center-bound platform at this station will reopen before the Manhattan-bound platform closes. What's happening? We're making station improvements
  25. There is no service between Chambers St and South Ferry until at least 8:00 PM. There are severe delays in service between Chambers Stand 242 St. What's Happening? Emergency teams are responding to someone who was struck by a train at WTC Cortlandt. Service Changes: Southbound trains will end at 137 St-City College or Chambers St. Some southbound trains will run via the line from 149 St-Grand Concourse to Nevins St. To provide additional service, some trains will make local stops in Manhattan.
