  1. Sure, listen to Coast to Coast after 1am weekdays. They'll mention it every now and then. Doesn't surprise me if George Soros is part of it.
  2. :sigh: I'll try to clear up this rambling here: No cars are being retired, so why would the be back to 9-car trains again? You have more than enough R62s for the line and they run on a part time line, which means less stress especially for the doors. The is a very demanding line and the R142s can probably stand up to the punishment, no need to move the older cars back to the . The makes the most sense about getting the R62as back cuz of the ()<> signs. What I could see done is they move the remaining R142As on the to the and the send R142s to the so the is mostly R142As and the just Bombs only [R142 and r62A]. So the whole political crap is just that. If the east siders don't like it, they can clog the FDR or other roads to get to downtown. The city doesn't serve them. Who cares they don't like the old cars? They should be happy to have service period.
  3. The doors at the end of the car or storm doors? I avoid those seats [towards the end of the cars 2/4 seaters] because that's where I see the homeless people sit when I do see them.
  4. Since monday or sunday, they cut out an entire page of comics. off the top of my head 7 of them were: Rose, Curtis, F-minus, over the hedge, tundra, Sherman's Lagoon, [forgot the last one]. And then those others in the columns.
  5. Saw this bus a couple of times this past week, and both times on the B46. Didn't get to hear the sound since traffic was kinda stop and go at the intersections and I didn't have my camera handy
  6. Lol! Classics! That's totally 'proff' he owns that site. No reasonable person would allow a lowlife like that to keep posting despite such insensetive remarks and threats.
  7. The modem is theirs. My provider is optimum. But keep in mind I got mine since moving here 5 years ago. So since then I think I'm probably overdue for an upgrade. Just a matter of calling for a request for a higher speed modem.
  8. Well the repairman came and said that there was some water corrosion in the line outside and that was fixed. As for everything else, it should work fine. Main issue is the download speed is slower than it should meaning I'll need a higher speed modem. Upload is fine. Had a minor scare with my external drive. It had a usb error message and I feared I lost everything in it. So I plugged everything in the old computer to take everything out of the external drive and all the files were fine. But after this I'm retiring the old external drive. It was a western digital 80gb drive. I know there are bigger sized drives, I only used this for documents and stuff that don't take up much space.
  9. If I can, I will. On a brighter note, I can still use the internet compared to the last 2 days when it would crap out on me after 8pm.
  10. MTA bus has done some subway shuttle work, but then again it was since so many lines needed work that NYCT can't handle it all. I think it is great if MTA Bus were to do more shuttle work since they are closer and some places like SC aren't that taxed on weekends. No, I really doubt that my pc and router are the causes. The internet connection has been good [decent speed] to bad [no connection at all]. Plus the phone lines aren't working fully either. I did call the provider and they should be sending someone to check things out. If the problem continues after they checked and 'fixed' it, then I'll complain to get a discount from the bill.
  11. I got my wifi router as of last October and I've been using the wifi sparringly like 3 1-hr periods a day. It's not like I have it turned on the entire day or everytime I'm logged online. For the computer I use the wire only. Wifi for just the ipod. And it seemed just lately this week everything including my phonelines are on/off. = I haven't been doing any type of fanning in a while - rail or bus. Also haven't taken many pics these past few months. Until new buses comes in, everything has been 'the same' no variations, so no pics in general. Also anyone here having problems to quick post in this thread? I have to quote a post before I can post a reply.
  12. I think I have problems with my modem [or could be something else?] Internet speed is way down especially if I'm downloading stuff. Using the wifi router for wifi use seems fine till after 8pm. Also I got 'static' sounds on the landlines. This totally sucks. The only good thing is that my cable boxes are still fine, not much pixelation as before even in the bad weather like today. = Flipping thru the channels and caught a glimps of a thomas show. When the hell did they start using cgi? Looks kinda creepy, lol.
  13. Oh, well in that case I stand corrected. I was under the assumption you meant the subway page.
  14. Trolleys are a part of the city's history. There's only so many pictures people can post about an R160 or R142 at [__] station. What's the problem with diversity? Today there's a lack of it. Also what page are you looking at? http://www.nycsubway.org/perl/imgdate?20110216 and Feb 7th both have subway images on them.
  15. So don't stare at the site every single day or the newest photos section. Problem solved.
  16. Yeah, this is why i gave up on chasing buses. I've been riding the B6 as often as I can this past few weeks, but no luck getting even a glimpse of it. I'm glad I never bothered trying to wait for it. Horray for the M42! As for LGA getting another 9300... adios Such a terrible end for those buses.
  17. The soups i've tasted were usually ok [but high in cholesterol], otherwise no other ill effects on me. Some places the soup can be watery, others can be thick and 'chewy'. Then again, maybe it's an ethnic thing? lol - J/K :shrugs: = Last week went to B&H and damn that place was like a maze. I had no idea it was that big or confusing to walk thru. But overall it was pretty good and I got the camera stuff I needed. Sales rep was friendly and pretty knowledgeable [gave a small walkthru about the camera i needed to buy]. Totally loved the conveyor belt system they got running thru the store. [Like a kid in a toy factory.] So that place gets my
  18. Ah, but that's because they were part of the military. I'm saying they should send them [orange jumpsuits and all] and dump their asses in the Mid East and let them enter the caves and let them shoot it out.
  19. Change back? I know they'll be around a few more years, nut isn't that a waste? No the R62s should stay on the since there's enough for the w/out need for another train type. is best off as NTT mainly.
  20. Since America has done nothing but export it's jobs to other countries, may as well start exporting our home grown thugs to places like NK, Iran, Afghanistan. Give them some guns and pull out our troops and "let the mayhem begin".
  21. I would likely guess the will send back the 5-car sets first since they can't be broken up and keep the singles till there are no more 5-car sets. I know that it probably doesn't make a difference at this point, but I still think the singles should be linked up into 5-car sets when they are on the . Gonna be strange seeing purple stickers representing Westchester yard though, heh.
  22. Been busy past few days, but I'm still around - just not like every day/hour like a few months ago. Still backed up on my pics though. One day gotta get them edited and posted. Is it just me or is anyone feeling apathetic about online? I don't even bother checking up on even e-mails daily now or visit all the usual chat places.
  23. Ditto about the wifi on the itouch. It was slow as hell. I'm so glad I got a wifi router. Makes things so much better. Faster, consistant and rarely any signal drops. No need to stand in one area to get a signal. Nice as having a signal everywhere would be, I'm not buying an Iphone and dealing with all the bills over wifi usage shit.
  24. Yup, every now and then the picture will freeze up and you can see the pixelation. Just terrible. And of course their joke of Optimum wifi = if you leave a spot to go to another spot, you have to retype all the info to log back in. 'Remembers your info' my ass... :sticks imaginary finger at Cablevision: Far as the HD stuff goes, they got the grey 'bars' on the top and bottom to make the screen wider, but I don't see any remarkable difference in the quality over the original standard stuff.
