  1. I'm in the same problem as you as far as what I've quoted. I would like Fios as well.
  2. Nice as a premium channel is, they don't have all the movies. Like Showtime or Starz would have rights and HBO would have its own stuff. But movies for the most part should be seen intact, unedited. Networks still have regular shows, but if hulu airs them then even better [fewer commercials, but quality sucks].
  3. MTV,VH1, etc. are all shit. I skip those channels altogether. paramont's garbage. It's no wonder why kids these days are all f'ed up.
  4. Well true, but they were retired the same time. I meant like MJQ sending the rest of them out than to just retire them cuz of the arrival of the ex-FB hybrids.
  5. Is it something like the MJQ 8600s? God I miss those buses. NYCT retired them too soon. [At least they could've been sent to MTA Bus than just outright retired].
  6. lol, if that was directed to me: I'm just making a fairly educated guess based on the stuff already posted by others in this thread that probably have more info than i do. I just connect the dots if anything.
  7. Damn... more of the younger Rtss going I would've been fine if FB was sending out the 4200 NGs
  8. Now that's a scoop. I wonder what FB got in return? Man these swaps are getting weird.
  9. From what's been said here, I'm going to guess: R62As will be sent to the [maybe 10 cars at a time]. Meanwhile, the R142As being converted to R188s will be sent to the directly [which means they were likely already taken off the ]. The 11th would be the new b-car to be inserted into an existing 10-car set, so that would make it 11. Again I have no knowledge of this stuff other than from what I read here.
  10. Well thanks for the info! If these teething issues persists, does that scrap the possibility for CBTC for the ? or will the MTA find some way to push it thru working or not?
  11. How many posts per page are you viewing? [this is page 50 for me] Or tell me what was the post #.
  12. The R62As have those LED lcl/exp signs. So it's not like they need to use the signs. I still think the whole shouldn't run R62A's thing is just being overstated. The ran them for ~15 years. It's not a big deal for the to run them again. That plus there will still be some R142As left since the has more trains than the and the won't be taking them all due to the R188s being ordered.
  13. Wouldn't surprise me they take the R142As from the first, but I won't rule out the possible moving of the (6)'s R142As to the to keep the as all NTTs.
  14. Only if they build a new river tunnel to replace the Steinway tubes and allow B division cars to run on the combined line. Probably would be a good reason to run 10-car trains for the combined line. If not for Eastern div's limitations, they could have 10-car trains for the entire B-div system.
  15. Then again, concidering the is isolated from the other lines: does it really matter that it must use the same cars as its mainline cousins? I think the would be fine if it used exclusive cars that better suits service than the limitations of the current IRT cars. The other option would be to increase the platform length to 612'~ to allow 12-car trains to run on the . That way it runs an even number of cars and you can have fixed 6-car sets rather than a 5+6 group.
  16. Solution: Put the R32s on the (, displace the R68s to the and other CI routes and move the displaced R160s to Queens and move the displaced R46s to the and . Make the 600' trains. But since the trains are longer, then the loses train runs so the total amt of cars is equal to what they have now.
  17. Yup. Can't expect more with less. People don't want higher fares, then they can't expect much improvement. While that is true, the only way having those 'modified' R62As on lines like the won't matter is: if the stays mostly R142/As and the getting back its R62s from the . But that would add in another line to deal with and wouldn't make much sense. So point remains that right now it's most likely the and/or that will give up their R142As to the for the R62As.
  18. Heh, well this is probably the one few things I'll foam about. I still think the Flushing line would be better off being part of B division and keep the A divsion with just the current 6 lines.
  19. F**king hate snow. Been shoveling since sunday and had to pay some ppl to help out. Finally as of today the driveway is cleared out, but some side roads are still unplowed and not passable. WTF is the sanitation department ppl being paid for? They've done a half assed job out here.
  20. Had an exhausting day on Wed visiting all the sites in Midtown. To sum it up: Time Warner building, Central Park, FAO/Apple store, Rockerfeller center, Times Sq/Toys R us, Grand Central, Macy's/Manhattan[, er JC penny] mall. Also rode the for the first time since the changes [don't go to Manhattan often] and rode thru the connector [pretty nice pace for a 'sharp curve']. Interesting part was that when the t/o opened his cab, I thought it was cuz i was taking pics in the train, but it was actually to help out some rider who was a little lost. Took the to the Jay St station and took some pics of the new connector to the and it looks as great as the photos here are. Another funny note was one of the workers [orange vest] saw me taking pics and I think mentioned if I was gonna post them on subchat or something. So a little chuckle there rather than an uptight person yelling about don't take photography, etc. So all in all a great day, but my feet were sore by the time I got home.
