  1. I'm going to guess maybe the Broadway segment of the line. But I'm not too familiar about 7th Av itself below TS [other than the SF loop].
  2. True, but then again if B-div trains were to run regularly on the Flushing line, then they'd have to align the trippers on the opposite side. Of course, I said that in general - the original IRT. but thanks for the details.
  3. Whooo! just a few days before the end of the earth occurs! About the sunlight: agreed with FG. I hate how dark it gets so early. Instead of falling back, they should've had the clocks set 1 hr ahead so there's more light later in the day than in the morning. It's too bright when it's 8am! I want some sunlight when it's 5-6pm. Well at least the days will only get longer after the 21-22nd. = Still hate having to change the clocks 2x a year though.
  4. Thanks for confirming this. I've been speculating about this for some time now. I always thought that if they added another diamond crossover for the LL QBP station, the Flushing line could run via Broadway BMT. Of course it would overload the Broadway and there would be a need for 'shuttle service' from TS to QBP. But I still hold on to this one fantasy about the east of QBP using B div cars. As for around the system for 60' long 9' wide 'IRT' cars, some problems I would see are the CH and SF loops, the S-curve south of 180th St on the (2)/(5) and pretty much parts of the original IRT from CH to 96th-Broadway.
  5. How many of them stays open 24/7? Sure if the MTA can shut the subway down for a few hours every day or even weekends only, they can really clean things up. But you got ppl working late nights meaning the system must stay open round the clock. The system will never be clean till it comes time to fix up the station and closing it down for periods of time. Plus no one forces you to take the subway if you think it is so dirty. That's why it is called public transit. You have other people to deal with. If you don't like the filth, I would say you should invest in a car and get to work germ free.
  6. Have you rode the line's R62A's? imo those seats are more scratched up than the ones on the . I'd rather have the R62A's from the than the ones on the . @ Kris about the unused R62/R68 cabs, totally agreed. That is space that you can fit at least 2 seated and 2 standees. They are a total waste of space. This is why I do favor the linked sets over single units.
  7. Gone for a few days and I find out a show I kinda watch: stargate universe has been canned. Looks like the new direction of the show sucks and the audience agrees. It'll join Star trek in the "black void". Man I'm feeling tired, must be the cold outside. Also likely gonna see that new Jay St connector on Wed. Also looks like I've maxed out my storage capacity on my ipod touch. I hate having to erase stuff to fit new stuff.
  8. I don't blame you at all. It's so sad how TS has free reign to attack others for the most stupid things and butting in on everything else. How he's still there and other ppl who have done nothing wrong other than give info/pics are attacked by him for this long = lost cause. TS is exactly why I don't post any pics there anymore and post far less than what I used to.
  9. Can you post the message you sent? I can't believe you'd be banned by a turd like TS isn't kicked out. I totally can believe that TS probably owns the place since he should've been banned years ago after all the attacks on other ppl as well as harrassment about checking e-mails. I'm also curious to know about this shooting incident reguarding TS.
  10. Probably easier to instal CBTC in the R142s than the older R62s, as rr4567 explained. Otherwise there wouldn't be a need for these R188s. The R62As aren't going anywhere, they still have more than 10yrs left if cars last as long as 40 some years.
  11. Like it or not, I still think the most likely destination for the displaced R62As from the will be the . [they're not going to the because of Flatbush and at times 180th.] This has nothing to do with the 'politics' of the UES. If those riders don't like to ride the old cars, then they can take the bus to the West side or try their luck with the taxies. They should be fortunate to have anything serving them. Now what I still wonder is if they will link those single R62A cars into 5-car sets. Then again at least maybe there will be rfws again on the Pelham line. Unrelated: I still think the MTA should think about using 60' IRT cars [as long as the R143/R160s but narrow like the R142s]. Why go thru this hassle over the 11th car? I mean is Steinway that much of a problem that cars can't be longer than 51' long?
  12. I suppose, only if you are able to get the power cord plugged up its ass
  13. Yeah and the amusement parks are closed during the winter
  14. Post I wanted to put up [but likely won't] in the SI bus thread that you and some SI'ers are have a 'debate' about:

Truth. No one told anyone where they had to live. SI'ers didn't want to stay in Brooklyn - I mean the $11 toll to enter SI shows just how insane it is for anyone to move there.

  15. I normally like the cold, but it's frigid out there. I hope it doesn't snow too much, but that'd be too much to ask. Still better this than sweating to death in the summer.
  16. These past few days I've seen some brats hold open the rear door of the bus to let their buddies in. I mean it's bad enough they get the full fare cards, but they gotta sneak to the back of the bus and take up space that I could try and fit in because they don't want to wait in line? And some of you wonder why I hate how some kids gets a literal pass, while I am basically subsidizing them via my fare. This is why I wished kids were forced to go to schools closer to home unless they had a special voucher [grades dependent B+ or better] or whatever that allows them to go to the schools of their choice. Also agreed, where are the cops when you really need them?
  17. Fine, but if you want to show me that I'm wrong then you won't let those dogs show you 'who's boss'. Walk your normal route and just 'block them out'. I got something similar to your 'fears': Damn school kids when they get out of school. Friggin animals, they never shut up nor keep to themselves. I could take another bus, but if I'm running late, I don't have that luxury and have to put up with them.
  18. I keep telling him that many times, but no luck. At this point you'd be wasting time trying to tell him that not all dogs are evil. God knows I've tried. If a dog barks at me, I just give it a good 'stare' and stand my ground. Some dogs only barks if I'm walking my dog. Otherwise they hardly bark at all. Some places the fences are just waist high too.
  19. Was this before or after dominos changed the recipe? I found the new one was slightly better over the old. Granted I had only at two pies from PJ's so far, I still didn't like it.
  20. Dunno what folks here thinks of Dominos, but I'll definitely eat their pies over Papa Johns anyday. Had a pie from Papa Johns and it tasted like crap.
  21. I like mine with mushrooms. Don't like pepperoni or other stuff.
  22. Other than pain in your finger tip from prolong useage, it's handier than dealing with having to hook up a mouse. Now a wireless keyboard + mouse = awesome.
  23. Still, it is a lazy thing to do by 'copying from Wiki and changing a few words'. Still Plagerism. My advice is stick with books where the teacher won't be bothering to look thru. Wiki makes it too easy for the teacher to just check back and see how much of the ppr is copied.
  24. Teachers can compare it to online these days, that's an easy way to get an F or worse for plagerism. Do things the old fashioned way: use as many books as possible. The more the better to keep the teacher from being suspicious. Of course depends on how much of a damn the teacher gives about papers.
  25. I'm in total agreement with you about Citaro's constant bitching about how America's system like healthcare is runned. It seems like all he does is post about it. Sadly the few here agrees with him than to just isolate that nutcase. He's as bad as Megawang about anything US. What's his facination with 'socialism' anyway? I don't want my earnings going to help some bum that doesn't want to support their own self. That's capitalism.
