I'd say they improved it with the Super AMOLED Plus display. It's not perfect in direct sunlight but I can definitely see more than I did with my old phone. It's pretty good.
I finally got around to dumping my EVO 4G and got me the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch (yes that's the name of it). Overall I am totally satisfied with this device and it's gorgeous 4.52" Super AMOLED Plus display compared to the washed out looking LCD of the EVO 4G (I also think the qHD Pentile displays on the newer devices looked washed out too). There's a improvement with battery life over the EVO 4G which was a battery draining monster.
Yes yours is definitely worse. Maybe because of the WiFi? My battery definitely takes a hit with the 4G radio on.

Indoor 4G speed test. When Sprint turned on 4G on November 1st the signal seems to be getting stronger in my office where it was once very week. Right outside the front door of my office building I can get 10,000+ kbps.
Angry Birds Lite Beta is available in the Android Market. For anyone who hasn't tried this addicting game on the iPhone/iPod touch platform it is now available as a beta on Android.
