  1. Hi jimmy7train! Why, thank you very much! That's how the 70(EE) (1967-1976) would've looked on the map from 1979-1985!

70(EE) 71st Avenue-Continental Avenue to Whitehall Weekdays Normal Hours (in those days "Normal Hours" corresponded to 6am to 8pm, approximately).

    Thanks,

    70(EE)

  2. Hi jimmy7train! You're welcome! I'm happy you enjoy the history of the New York City subway! That's excellent.

At nycsubway.org, there's a beautiful scan of an authentic 1972 subway map, including the subway service guide you might be interested in.

Check out the service and the colors we had when I was a nine year old boy and interested in trains.

  3. Hi Jon: I honestly can see your virtual rollsign simulators now and I must say you do excellent work. I saw you have an R16 front in your subway stuff page and I'm stuck between the 70(EE) 70(E) and (TT). Very classy work! Thank you for sharing these.

  4. Hi LRG, Since you asked this morning, Princess Corina is a co-worker I like. She is cute (exotic looks, actually), petite, attends church, has a beautiful singing voice, is funny, and overall a nice person. She is available (I think). At present, we chat and flirt a little.

    Have A Wonderful Day,

    70(EE)

  5. Hi LRG! Here is a new classic subway route bullet I thought you might enjoy. The red on this bullet looks nice. HH67.gif.

I'm typing this as I enjoy your YouTube Video. Is very nice.

    Have a wonderful day.

  6. Hi LRG! How is your day? I just want to say I admire you. You've stuck with the (V) and R40 Slants and that's great! I also enjoy your posts, especially in the Random Thoughts thread.

    Have a wonderful day,

  7. Hi lrg5784, A small computer question. The Enter key allows me to make neat paragraphs. Is there a special button I press to make neat colunms of more than single space? Also, what is the FN button for?

    Thanks much,

    70(EE)

  8. Hi Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! R32 3348, you take excellent photos. If you want and have time, could you contribute an R44 or R46 photo to the R44/R46 Fanclub and/or help start a disucussion, please? Much thanks, 70(EE)

P.S. If you'd like, you're my "Assisstant Moderator".

  9. Hi metsfan, The New York Times says a (7)<7> tunnel from West 34th Street would cost about $5.3 million and Secaucus is being looked because of a connection with NJ Transit. If you look at Google Maps, such a tunnel would come out at approximately between 19th Street and Lincoln Harbor HBLR. Next problem: tunneling under Weehawken, Union City, North Bergen and the Meadowlands. I'm not sure from the article if Secaucus would be the only station, but there really isn't much between there and Lincoln Harbor except for maybe Kennedy Boulevard or Bergenline Avenue.

  10. Hi NX Express, I'm sorry about the (G) thread.

Your profile page is neat. I like the colors.

  11. Hi NX Express! I like your avatar! I found this beautiful official 1974 subway map and station guide online. Scans show the cover, 1974 Subway Service Guide, Full Map, Manhattan and Brooklyn. I was 11 that year and this was my second subway map. Brings back memories.

Have a wonderful day and enjoy!

  12. Hi NX Express! I'm sorry about my gaffe, but if a person is transferring from the (S) Lefferts Boulevard Shuttle to the (A), don't you think it's a little better to transfer at Rockaway Boulevard than to wait until Euclid Avenue? Maybe a little better chance of getting a seat, if nothing else?

    Have a wonderful day.

    70(EE)

P.S. The (T) has been here: it was here from 1964-1967. :P

  13. Hi R32 3352! You sent me a message a Riders Diaries? My computer (laptop) was down and I don't think I received it.

I agree. I was at R.D. today and it doesn't look to good. Two of the posts were incredibly long spam.

    Have a wonderful day,

    70(EE)

  14. Hi R32s! Happy New Year! I've been fine! How have you and Jun been?

Last month, just after Christmas, we received a tiny bit of snow here in the Metropolitan Phoenix area (mostly snow flurries and wind) and for about three or four days it was in the upper forties and lower fifties. Saturday morning of that week there was frost and ice.

    Work is going ok.

    Have a wonderful day!

  15. Hi R44 CNG, Could you possibly make a small inside sign similiar to the one in your signature, if I ask politely and be patient?

    70(EE)

  16. Hi R44 CNG, Much thanks! If you could, please: Whitehall 71 Ave-Continental Ave 70(EE) ? No special preference: Whitehall or 71 Ave-Continental Ave can be the top sign. Thank you,

    70(EE)

  17. Hi Rell! Thank you! Alt and 3. Is Caps Lock the same as number lock? (I don't appear to have a number lock key).

    Thanks,

    70(EE)

  18. Hi Roadcruiser1, lol In your interesting post about a Jamaica El rehab, I think you meant third track as the Jamaica El already carries two third rails. And yes, there is provision that a third track could be added. I believe opposition prevented this from happening.

  19. Hi RTOMan! How is your day? Just curious, do you know Railman718, Northeastern Train Operator or Train Dude?

    Have a wonderful day!

    70(EE)

  20. Hi RTS CNG Command! If you don't mind, who were/are you at Rider Diaries?

    70(EE)

  21. Hi SI Subway! Disappointed? Nah, life is too short! Also, it is indeed, the Washington Nationals (or Nats). From 1969 through 2004, they were the Montreal Expos.

Are you surprised by the early success of the Pittsburgh Pirates (46-42; 22-21 at home)?

    70(EE)

  22. Hi SI Subway! I added you to my contacts here at NYC Transit Forums because I enjoy your posts and I thought you might be a good internet friend. We've a good community and I'm happy you're an active part of it.

  23. Hi Trainmaster5! Do you remember the old 70(K) service? What was the service like toward the end?

    Thanks,

    70(EE)

  24. Hi Urbanfortitude! God Bless You! That means so much to me. You know, I accept blame for letting this get to the point that there nearly was no tomorrow but I'm also finding out that Depression and, even Anxiety, can cause a person to not be able to ask for help and admit that that they're troubled. It's only been a short time (Thursday April 7th-Friday July 22d), but already a difference. Tucson has given me a new life and I'm enjoying sharing my observations and expierences (especially Sun Tran ones), and where appropiate my memories of buses and subways when I was growing up in Jersey City. Apparently my illness quietly began in the early 1980's and simply grew until 2011.

    Enjoy your day today,

    70(EE)

  25. Hi! (9) West 242d Street to New Lots Avenue and (1) West 242d Street to 14th Street this summer (maybe): http://www.subchat.com/read/read.asp?Id=922459

If this is true, (3) 148th Street to 14th Street also. 70(EE)
