  1. Dude CI is or was one of the best barns in the system and had various types of equipment before the R160's including those garbage ass CI rebuilt R42's. So That is a bunch of bullshit. The only thing I can get is that they never had the R46's and they are not used to them but that still doesn't excuse the fact they run like shit. The "Lets Blame Jamaica" is starting to get tired. Also The is one line so it's much easier to get to the issues and on top of that they have R179's and the uses 9 R46's which lays up at night. Pitkin got R46's from Jamaica back in 2009 and they fixed them up as time went on and they didn't run like shit. CI had these cars for almost 2 years now so there's no excuse. CI runs R46's on the 24/7 with the using the majority of the fleet. Spreading one of the oldest cars on 4 different lines is going to cause issues. The CI R68's aren't bad, The Concourse ones run like dogs but not as bad as people would think. The only issue at CI is the R46's. When the / had the R32's, They also had back up fleet and that made them think outside the box by putting R143 spares on the / along with the R32,42.R160 spares. This is why the R32's at ENY was not as bad since you guessed it, A healthy amount of spares plus increasing the R32 spare factor at ENY. CI barely has that hence the original plan to keep 110 R32's for the to push more R46's to CI which didn't happen. The R211's are doing great when it comes to testing so all of these problems will be solved once the production cars start trucking in after the 30 day test (if the R211's Pass the test.)
  2. City Hall LL can only handle an 8 car train. The Platform would have to be extended in order to fit a full sized train. I really wished they created a new local track for canal st upper have the similar layout like the proposed local to express station conversion at woodhaven blvd. This would allow Express Trains from 96th and 2nd to terminate at City hall lower level while having the continue to Brooklyn. The Tracks would divide similar to what you see with the 63rd st connection.
  3. I wonder if any Orion VII's will be brought back from retirement due to the sudden loss of buses
  4. those could get new replacements since they are still new and under warranty
  5. They run like garbage on the CI routes, And they are starting to show their age. By the time the 2nd option order is awarded they are going to be shot due to running on 24/7 routes like the A,G,N/Q lines . Right now they are being run into the ground since the spare factor was reduced due to the last 110+ r32's being in storage. If the R46's at CI were on the their MDBF would improve Also there isn't enough R211's to replace the entire R68/A cars on top of the R46's You Guys tend to forget that AFTER the R179 order, There was going to be 110 R32's left for service (first 100 R179's replaced the Already retired r44's that were NOT replaced by the R160's and all the r42's and 50% of the R32 fleet) . The first 80 to 100 R211's replaces those R32's with the rest replacing the SI R44's and all the R46's (If the 1st option is taken to replace the remaining r46's). All the remaining cars in the R211 is for fleet expansion unless ridership doesn't reach pre pandemic levels in 2025. If that's the case then 60% of the r68 fleet (concourse ones) could be in the same situation as the R32's, In storage until they decide if they want to retire them or not.
  6. CI ones still run like dogshit , People on here and on facebook cap for them while they continue to breakdown. This is what happens when you run them on 3 major CI routes 24/7 with barely any spares.
  7. Those R44's need to go, They're beyond done. Frames have rot and other issues
  8. That's because the lines were intended to go further out east with the going as far as Hollis and the as far as Springfield Blvd or Rosedale
  9. 8773-8777 has been like that for over a year. It used to be a coumo wrapped train it got tagged so they completely removed the wrap.
  10. It pisses me off as a Black man seeing My own race of men doing dumb shit like this only to ruin their own job for the sake of getting a piece of ass. Dude is a certified SIMP and clown. dudes will do anything for a piece of ass and it's sad. If dude's are that desperate for sex, Just bang an Asian granny on Roosevelt or flushing for $100
  11. On My previous post about the signage, I now know what the poster meant and yes it's a shuttle program.
  12. It's Better to just keep the destination at the Front instead of it saying Far Rockaway then via 8th ave Express.
  13. Unless The r179's have CBTC kits in them and they can run on the with no issue then yea, The R160's could be pushed out. But If not those R160's got to stay because of service. 8613-8652,9943-74 are the only ones that could move but that's not enough for full service. I'm not one of those complaining, It has to happen. We have too many old subway cars. If it were up to me everything in the B division would be a tech train so this way we avoid having to swap cars constantly due to CBTC. If the R211's are proven reliable, they need to add additional funding for a 3rd option order to replace the R68/68A fleet. Once this is all done, they can focus on upgrading other lines with CBTC and infrastructure. The IRT is fine with the R62/62A's since the IRT cars are all the same size and the R62/62A's are reliable as they can take their time with their replacements (R262's). now watch people say this is a bad idea.
  14. they aren't as reliable as you think. Their MDBF are terrible compared to other buses
  15. I heard it's temporary but who knows. has been doing weird stuff lately. Wouldn't surprise me if they use existing B cars and turn them into 10 car units. But they are going to install CBTC kits on these cars soon.
  16. From what I heard Some are being worked on. 2 sets are or were at CI main shop. Probably them installing CBTC kits or other work.
  17. From the things I see going on, It's kind of impossible to do full service without them but the Crew shortage is helping them not use the R32's. As of now they are just in storage (120 or less cars, the rest are for scarp).
  18. I'm talking about the option order 1 or 2 cars. by then the R32's would be completely retired and in work service and scrap.
  19. Renaming the Lefferts to service between 96th st 2nd ave to 9th ave or 95th st Brooklyn as a 6th ave express/4th ave local
  20. 4500-4999 are open then you would have ether 5201-5480 or 3328-4059 open.
  21. It's inside the inspection barn, They are just waiting for the other 5 cars which all should be delivered by now as the last 2 cars were in NJ earlier waiting to move by nighttime It's for the but can also run on the since they share the 64 CBTC equipped R160A-1's and the R143's. If it's open gangaway then they will be strictly for the I really wished they ordered more B cars for the r179's to convert them into 10 car trains. This would have allowed the to order a sizable amount of 8 car R211's for the and lines and the r179's could have been strictly at Pitkin and 207th st.
  22. They transferred it back. A 10 car mixed train (8 R32's and a pair of R42's) were sent to ether ENY yard or Carnarsie yard. the 8 car R42's plus that pair that was with the r32's were sent back to where they came from. the r32's were from 207th
  23. The wouldn't need the 8 car R179's anymore, This would allow the R46's to stay longer until midway though the R211A base order. The whole point is to make the full length. running mixed length tech trains would be worse. First 100 R211A's wouldn't replace any R46's, These 100 R211A's are essentially the R32 replacements anyway.
  24. It would be logical to give those cars to 207th but I think they would go back to Coney instead. They want the R179's in 2 yards, I could see the 10 car units moving to 207th to push out the 8 car units. But I wouldn't be surprised if they did this instead, Give Jamaica 240 of the R211A along with the 20 R211T's for an exchange of 260 Siemens r160's to 207th st. the 10 car R179's stay at Pitkin alongside the R211A's and 108 R46's.Pitkin would have 200 R211A's , 130 R179's and 108 or less R46's. Also those could see service on the as well, They could share equipment.
  25. Those R160's already have CBTC in them. 9853-9942 are CBTC equipped. I think that group would go back as soon as Jamaica Gets r211's to bump out those siemens. Jamaica get their 90 R160's cars back to swap for 90 Siemens and the remaining 170 Siemens would go back to CI as the R211 replaces them. Jamaica Got the remaining Siemens because They want to keep those cars together. I think if the R211 successfully tests CBTC on Queens Blvd, The R211 Assignments could change with the last 150 cars going to Jamaica to replace those Siemens R160's. It all depends, I still think the whole base order would go to pitkin but things could change. I think it's much sooner than that, But it depends.
