The 72nd Street/CPW station is closed due to an issue in the Dakota Apartments that police are concerned could spread to the station below if it were open. The local track is unusable because of this, however, the local tracks north of there CAN be used, including the crossovers to/from the express tracks, which ARE usuable.throughout. Also, a separate issue has 59th Street-Columbus Circle closed with all trains (including the ) passing through the station, but not stopping. (I had posted this one earlier, but no one had responded to it).
Trains skip 72 St. I think 32 tph can work in this case because there are no stations on the express track there.

Because of a police investigation, the Eastern Pkwy express and Brighton tracks are closed and impassable in the vicinity of 7 Av. The local tracks are fine.
Reroute trains, keeping tph in account. Please avoid through-running or extending the ...it's not realistic.

I had in mind to terminate the at Wall St - there is a crossover south of there (it's not shown on the track map).
That would give people the one extra transfer to the at Fulton St.

via the Grand St to Coney Island (West End Local)
via the Canal St to Kings Hwy (Sea Beach Local)
via Culver Local to Kings Hwy
The would have to run via the on 4 Av, since + + + = 32 tph, which is over capacity.
Are you sure they merge, because I am sure all that happens is that there is a switch track that allows the to go Brighton Local.Well, they merge in one direction, and split in the other.

By just north, I meant the interlocking that leads into Coney Island.
Couldn't the also turn at Bay 50th (Manhattan-bound platform)?
And @trainguy: Brighton can't handle all on one track.

Art Vandelay has repeatedly stated that it would be 260 4-car sets, with no sources whatsoever. Since the idea makes no sense, I'll stick to the conventional 250 5-car sets idea.

I guess the train is actually between 33 St and QBP. Therefore there is only one track open between 33 St and QBP, so trains have to single-track and terminate at QBP.

PS @ Wallyhorse: Why are you so obsessed with sending trains to the Transit Museum? Face it - they won't move all the trains (to where, anyway?) for a temporary disruption.

Work at 7 Av and 53 St disrupts subway service. 7 Av/53 St is closed and impassable, and trains cannot go between 49 St and 57 St on the Broadway Line (assume trains can enter 57 St, but not use the switches south of the station).

Just curious - what changed between 1959 and now? In 1959 (IIRC) buses ran every 2 minutes. Now, people are considering eliminating the route altogether.

Seriously? Extending a 150-ft train is realistic? Especially considering that the headway barely meets demand as it is, you want to lower it further?
