    Investigate what?

Im lost...what is the agency investigating?

Unauthorized personnel being on the property, which includes the storage yards and having people around 3rd rails who are not Track Certified. If you need more evidence, I would encourage you to check out this and this link, which comes from this YouTube video. Should be self-explanatory.

I’m on the list for that one too, I go for pre employment Monday, but I didn’t want to mix info on this page with that exam. I wonder though when they call me for the this list willi have to do all of the same pre employment steps again if I’m already hired.

Normally, when you switch over from MTA Bus Company to MaBSTOA, or MaBSTOA to NYC Transit, the answer would be "yes" and you wouldn't have to redo the 10-Day Training Session out of Zerega. However, since both of these are for MTA Bus Company, my "educated" guess would be no, however I would save a copy of the pre-employment packet, either digital or physical, in the event they make you do it over again. If you save it digitally, you can just change the exam number, edit a few things, and you should be good to go.

I wonder why they replaced the holiday train Arines with R32s?

In addition to what was previously said, which are all good points, I have two things to add:

First, with more and more people getting vaccinated for COVID-19, it seems that this new Omicron variant is not as severe, especially when it comes to deaths. Therefore, in an effort to try to get things back to normal, in addition to "killing two birds with one stone," it would make sense to have this R32 Farewell Run on multiple Sundays, compared to just one day like they did with the R42 Farewell Run.

Second, one of the many things which was posted on this Twitter page is the picture below, in which, you can see right above the star, the author posted a comment in which "Seeing this stuff run is a million times better than running that crap at work." Therefore, while the agency investigates this, especially with the older Nostalgia Trains, it would make sense to run the R32s in the meantime, especially since they don't have to go into a "relay" or anything to that nature. After all, according to TripPlanner, it takes an hour to get from Brighton Beach to 96th Street, so that should solve the problem while this investigation is underway.

Hey +Young+, I tried to dm you but it said I had “0” messages left. I never even sent a dm before on this forum but ok. I wanted to know if you had a thread for MTA bus P/T Bus operator exam 1301- I haven’t found anything , I thought maybe I was overlooking it. Thank you for all of the help you have given so far.

The reason why you're not able to send a direct, or Private Message (PM) is because you joined the site within the past thirty (30) calendar days. By the end of this month you should have more features, including the ability to send Private Messages (PM).

As far as the thread you're looking for - click here. To make a long story short, since this position is not that popular to begin with, it makes sense to condense all of the Part-Time Bus Operator information from the various examinations into one thread, which only has five pages, compared to having multiple threads, respectively.

I received a letter saying they was gonna start hiring in October to take the cdl permit test.  They made me my appointment told me to let them know of I pass...when I emailed them I was told when vacancies become available and when my list number is reached... why is this exam number keep being skipped over

The examination you are referring to is being talked about in this thread/topic, it is not for this particular examination. As per the guidelines, if you can please stay on-topic, it would be appreciated...thanks.

Hey Guys I got a text and invite to go to day one of pre-employment process at Livingston. On 12/14/21 Anyone know what will happen on day one? -That was actually fast by the way- will they tell me the score of the exam?

If I had to take an educated guess - no. That's one of the things about these non-Civil Service examinations - the agency can bend the rules, and, at the same time, get away with it. It has it's advantages and disadvantages, and in this case, it's a disadvantage.

For your right side turn, you’re going have to track the car through. Look outside the bus to get a better gauge on spacing. With some cars, some parts of it won’t appear or might be lower or higher then what your mirror is set to. You can stop and adjust your mirrors to get a better look. Lean and move around to scan for the whole car.

Hey @KDGallagher, have you considered looking at the handouts, especially this one, which is what Seven is describing? As we all know, there are different ways and/or methods of learning, and sometimes looking at a visual will do the trick compared to just reading the information and trying to picture it for yourself in your mind.

    Happy Thanksgiving!!

did anyone even take this test and got called back? The exam was given two weeks ago.

First of all, as per the guidelines, if you can please post in the relevant forum, which can be found here, it would be appreciated.

Second, as per the Notice of Examination (NOE), on page five, it says that the applicants will be scheduled to take the Bus Operator Selection Survey (BOSS). I don't believe the BOSS was administered two weeks ago, however, that's just me.

I literally just passed a training bus in far Rockaway on Newport Avenue, does anybody know what depot/union that is?Seems like they are still hiring, and  going through those lists

The only way to tell is to look at the depot sticker and/or logo. This can be found either on the passenger side near the front passenger door, either right above or to the left, or on the driver side towards the corner in the top right. The other day, I had to go to JFK and I saw a Training Bus from Flatbush Depot there.

And yes, they are hiring, just not off of this list as of yet.

    Thanks for the info!

This actually works out a little better for me with a possible April time frame. I was actually worried that I would get call and hired in the middle of my semester and be fumbling to keep up. Fingers crossed and best of luck to everyone!

Yeah, you should be safe. If they do reach out to you by mid-April, and you have to go to 180 Livingston Street, it's only a one-day event. However, we'll see what happens.

Good luck getting onto the Dean's List! You can do it!

Has anyone from 9618 heard anything? I have a low list number and I've yet to hear anything.

From my perspective, no one is going to hear anything, at least in the foreseeable future. The reason why is because, if you click here, and if you type "Bus Operator" into the search box, you will see that, they almost restored everyone's name back to the list for the prior examination, Exam 9604. Therefore, with the fact that they have at least 2,200 people to go through before they touch this list, it will be a while. As far as a time frame, I would say we're definitely looking into 2022, possibly by tax day, April 18th. (Keep in mind that April 15th, 2022 is Good Friday.) It all depends on who shows up for employment processing, who has their CDL (Commercial Drivers License) or CLP (Commercial Learners Permit), etc.

Now between you and me, regardless if you are a member or an anonymous guest, you might be wondering why they even published this list so early. All I have to say in regards to this is one thing and one thing only: Take an educated guess and go with it. And if your educated guess includes the word "problems," then at least we're on the same page as far as our thinking is concerned.

    No answer??

First of all, my apologies for the late reply. Myself and the other staff members moderate this site on a voluntary basis, and as we know, there is one big four letter word that got in the way of me posting a reply on this site: Life.

As far as what list number they are up to, good question! The reason why I say that is because, if you click here, and you type in "Bus Operator" into the search box, you will see that, according to the last certification, for this particular list, they seem to have restored most people back to the list. The reason why I say "most" people is because, if you look carefully, the person whose list number is 5 is not included in the certification, followed by the person whose list number is 10, followed by 23, followed by 38, followed by 43 and 44, followed by 55, etc. Therefore, with the fact that people have been called from this list already, I don't know exactly what list number they are up to.

On the other hand, for the people who have been already called, if you want to chip in and mention your list number (excluding the last two digits for security reasons), followed by when you got hired off of this list, it would be appreciated.

I really had it with the incompetence at "employment operations", how do they screen these people that work there. I believe you don't need a high school diploma to work there it seems. You can never get someone on the phone, and when someone actually picks up they want to transfer you to someone else.

I wonder if its always been like this or has it gotten worse since reopening from the pandemic. It's a shame, the only thing I can think of that is worse than this is the corrupt politicians raping the treasury and using our tax dollars as their own piggy bank and screwing the tax payer.

You're not the only one...If you send me a Private Message (PM), I'll share more "stories" about the incompetence...trust me, it's good! And it won't be a "trick" either!

Ok, I have the exam tomorrow. I'm basically flying blind and have no idea what the test is like since it's not the BOSS anymore. If anyone has more examples of what the test is like please let me know!

If you look at page five [5] of the Notice of Examination, it lists nine [9] different abilities you will be tested on. A sample of all of these abilities can be found in this NYPD Test Prep Kit. The only difference is, the questions will be geared towards a "Bus Operator" and not a "Police Officer." Here are a few examples:

-The memorization portion will probably and most likely contain a fictitious Bus Route instead of a picture

-The written comprehension/written expression will probably and most likely contain a memorandum, or using various sentences to put together a report (Keep in mind the examination is multiple-choice)

-Instead of being given a regular map, you will probably and most likely be given a map of fictitious bus routes on one single page, and asked questions about that, between transfers, subway stops, etc.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

I think this was the number I called (347)643-7413 Good Luck.

That is the number. What's funny is that when I try to call the other numbers, such as 347-643-8229/30/31/32, I'm greeted with "We're sorry. Your call can not be completed at this time. Please hang up and try your call again later." Meanwhile, when I call this number after 5 PM, I get their answering machine as if the phone number works fine! Interesting, right?

Congrats ! I’m currently in the training process and once I’m qualified I’ll be heading to eastcHester also. What should I expect of it ? Any pointers you can provide to me !? Thank you!

Although I'm going to let someone who's been through this recently share their feedback, have you considered looking at the YouTube videos and the handouts in this thread?

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Hey everyone . They called me processing for this exam 9604 and I went in for the appointment and I didn’t have my permit with me so they gave me a paper and told me get my Cdl permit and call the nunber on the paper . I got my permit and been trying to call the nunber and no one is answering . I emailed employmentcenterbuses@nyct.com as well attaching my Cdl permit and the letter they gave and they haven’t gotten back to me either . Anyway I could contact them ? Any nunber to call ?

thank you for the help !

First of all, welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you on board!

Second, as a result of my list number for this particular list being in the 600's, I also got an invitation for processing - the only problem is that I'm unavailable when they have me scheduled! I tried calling them to re-schedule, kept getting a busy signal, regardless of which specific number I tried, and I already sent them six [6] emails, just today alone.

Like @BoRi1976 said, I would try to continuously reach out to them and see what happens. Even if they're still working from home, they should at least respond to one of the multiple e-mails which I sent them, right?

  18. First, welcome to the Forums! Going forward, as per the guidelines, can you please post in the relevant forum, which can be found here? It would be appreciated.

As far as a failed DOT drug test and a past non-fault accident, was this within the past three [3] years? If so, yes. If not, you're good.

As far as the court date - to make a long story short, if it's pending, you will not be able to proceed. If you wish to plead guilty, the maximum number of points you are allowed to have on your license is four [4]. Therefore, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, however, until your court date is settled, you will not be able to proceed.

    Sorry.

    Hey Young,

did you take 1100 test yet? I remember ur list number is close to mine. I am 3xxx.

As far as the MaBSTOA (OA) and MTA Bus Company examinations, to make a long story short, I simply lost track. I do remember filing for it, since I was on unemployment and I didn't have to pay the fee, however, as far as whether I took it or not, I don't remember.
