And, Mr. White, are you going to Zerega anytime soon for B/O Training? Are you? Well, they started calling candidates from exam 2613 in November of 2013. If they go through 200 people a month (estimate), and there are 3,621 names on that list, it will take them approximately 18 months, which means that the earliest they will call people from the 4600 list will probably be June of 2015. How can they if I have already been through final processing and going to 750 Zerega Avenue within the next couple of weeks for training?

Yeah! I scored higher than you!! Which means a lower list # for 4600 compared to me!! And if you folks want to get your CDL license, you have plenty of time because everyone that took Exam 2613, and passed the civil service exam and the BOSS exam including myself, have priority over all of you. In addition, before you folks make your final decision, I would encourage you to re-read posts # 895 and 896 on page 90. (Hint: One of those posts was written by someone who works for another Transit company in Florida, compared to someone else who probably has very little experience in a Transit company to begin with asking all of you to "Please get your CDL licenses.") The last thing I have to say is, for all of you who took the exam and are hoping to get a position, consider yourselves lucky. The main reason why is because approximately 10% of the people who took exam 2613 passed, which is 3,621 people. If Human Resources goes through 200 people a month (estimate), the 2613 list will be finished in 18 months. Now if 25% of the people that took exam 2613 passed, that number would be around 9,000. If that was the case, then NYC Transit would not have given this exam to begin with so soon after exam 2613 was given. Is this at all relevant to the topic?

The TA physician thought I had some muscle spasm in my left leg. I went to a neurologist, and it turned out that it was negative. That's all. What did not help at all was that it was very hard for me to get an ASAP appointment with the neurologist, since he has a lot of other patients. That's why it took so long.

All I am going to say is that with most things in life, there are advantages and disadvantages. Like someone else said in the other threads, the DMV test is not a big deal, they train you, and the day before they show you the road test area and let you practice on the bus you will be using and they also allow you to ask any questions. They are not just going to give it to you on a random day. In addition, someone else also said on the other threads that the MTA prefers candidates with the permits. Now if you go to driving school and get the CDL, you could possibly pick up bad driving habits, which the MTA does not want. Like I also previously said (post #874), I also took exam 2613 in January of 2013, and one of the advantages of taking that exam is, regardless of whether I have my permit or CDL, I am going to have seniority over you, and chances are, I am also going to get hired before you as well! Again, there are advantages and disadvantages with most things in life...

Thanks! However, from reading 2 other Bus Operator threads, the training session prepares you for the road test, so I am not 100% worried about it. In addition, someone on one of those threads posted some advice as far as how to pass the test. Plus, for those of us that want to save $$, this is the way to go, because you do not have to give $$ to go to driving school, nor use a bus for the road test!

Really? The people going to training must have a CDL license? If that is the case, then how come on the second page of the Notice of Examination (http://web.mta.info/nyct/hr/archives/pdf/4600.pdf), it says that you must possess either a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) OR a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York AND a CDL Learner Permit with Passenger Endorsement? In addition, what happens if you do not pass the training session? Then you just wasted all of that $$ of a CDL for nothing, right?

Answers: 1) When you go to pre-employment, they are going to run an abstract of your license. They want to see that you have minimum the CDL Class B permit with passenger endorsement. I have Class A, since I was undecided about possibly going to driving school to learn how to drive a tractor-trailer. If you do not have a valid CDL permit when you report, they are not interested in you. Therefore, work on getting your CDL permit first before going down for pre-employment. 2) On the first day of pre-employment, when you are initially called up to the counter, after waiting in line, you will be required to hand in your license so they can run an abstract to make sure the past three years are clean. When you get called to the counter again, in the order of your ticket #, you will get your license back and they will send you to the laboratory for a drug test. That's it. 3) As far as how soon, it depends. For me, I was initially called in early November, since my list # for 2613 was in the low 270s. I got called back on December 19th for a second drug test. I got called back a third time on December 31st for medical and possibly final processing. If I had gotten cleared by medical, I would have been in the January 13th class. However, if you read the 2613 thread (http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/34980-bus-operator-exam-2613-questions/), you will notice that I got put on Medical Hold on December 31st, and as a result I had to go see a neurologist. As a result, I am now scheduled for the February 10th class.

When I compared my answers to the proposed answer key, I thought I got a score of 88.75%. However, they mailed me my results with a final score of 87.50%. Why this is - I don't know 100%, I probably made an error when initially recording my answers or comparing the online answer key with my results. With that I obtained a list # of 27*. I don't want to post the last #, since you never know who can be reading this (maybe someone from HR of NYC Transit). Anyways, myself, along with the first group of people reported for the first drug test in early November, and next week, I report to Zerega for Training. 93.33%, 4 reading comprehension questions wrong, which I am not surprised about, since I am stronger in mathematics.

I did not attend the protest session, however I doubt it. I took both exams 2613 and 4600. Myself and a few other people, who took both exams will agree that 4600 was easier than 2613 which had a lot more reading comprehension compared to anything else (80 questions compared to 60). I also obtained a higher score on this exam compared to 2613 as well.

Good. My advice is to stay clean and make sure this is the only incident...

I have taken a course similar to this in person in an effort to not reduce the number of points on my license, but to help lower the insurance cost. As far as point reductions, they only take off points for prior incidents. So say for example you took the class on 1/13/2014 and you got points on 1/20/2014, then you would have to re-take the class. More importantly, as far as HR of NYC Transit is concerned, the first time you go to 180 Livingston Street, they will pull up your NYS DMV abstract and examine it for any incidents within the past three years. Whether you take the online course or not, it will not erase the fact that you got a 3 point stop sign violation - the MTA will see it on your abstract for at least 3 years.

All you have to mention is that you are interested in taking the class and you found about it through this website (nyctransitforums.com). They should reply back with all of the information. It can be very brief, a sentence or two will do.

You know what the consequences of plagiarism are, right? I just feel it is truly disrespectful and you hurt my feelings as well. At least you could have mentioned in your previous post something like "someone e-mailed me this easy way on how to calculate my score, which is..." If you mentioned this, then not only are you not taking the credit for coming up with this, but also you are giving proper (or due) credit to someone else.
