  1. Since the examination on October 23rd and 24th is full of candidates, and since the application period is open until November 30th, you will be included in the next examination, whenever this takes place.
  2. If you look at the bottom of the second page of the Job Vacancy Notice, which can be viewed here, it says the following: Selection Method / Admission Letter: Candidates being considered for this position must take a multiple-choice test that may include questions on the following abilities: Understanding written sentences or paragraphs; using English words or sentences in writing; remembering visual information using short-term memory; determining when something is wrong or likely to go wrong; applying general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers; combining separate pieces of information, or specific answers to problems to form general rules or conclusions; following a set of rules in a certain order; reading and understanding bus routes and locations on a map; and imagining how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged. Therefore, based on this information, which includes a memory section, it sounds like they are giving a regular exam. The only difference is that no score will be given as far as how well you did - it will just be a pass/fail option. As far as the BOSS (Bus Operator Selection Survey) exam, they may give it, since they were sneaky enough to include it when they administered the 9618 exam without mentioning anything in the Notice of Examination, however we'll see what happens. Since they are giving a "regular" examination, from my perspective, the best way to prepare for this would be to use the NYPD Test Preparation Kits, which can be found here and here. Just make sure you take the memorization portion seriously!! @Lawrence St, did you say "in the order people submitted responses for the google form?" I just sent them another e-mail, because, when I click on the link that was provided to me, as you can tell from looking below, I got an error message! Therefore, just like @Mohamed said, "I don't know what's going on" as well, especially with me...
  3. As per the guidelines, if we can stay on-topic, it would be appreciated. If you're looking for experience, consider looking at this thread/topic. In addition, just to add my two cents, if you do not have the School Bus "S" endorsement, and you live in Queens, there is a Coach Bus Company out of Nassau and Suffolk County which is also looking to hire drivers. For more information, send me a Private Message (PM) and we'll take it from there.
  4. @Lawrence St Copy. I just sent them another email with the same message...we'll see what happens as time progresses.
  5. The e-mail address is examsunit@nyct.com. Keep in mind that this was the second time I sent them an e-mail, and then they decided to get back to me. You know what's funny? I took your advice, they sent me a link (https://forms.gle/x986S9QpSuhF4qVd9), and when I click on it, as you can see in the image below, the deadline was Sunday, October 4th, 2021, in which I was not able to complete the additional screening! Interesting, right? For the other members that are reading this, if you folks can click on the link above and verify this for me, I would truly appreciate it. Thanks.
  6. Copy. I just sent them two more inquiries from two different e-mail addresses. We'll see what happens. Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it.
  7. Speaking of YouTube, member @BoRi1976 posted his own YouTube Pre-Trip Inspection videos, which consist of the following: In addition, the member also shared his "handouts" as well, which can be viewed here. Good luck to everyone going for their road test! And for those of you who are not going for your CDL road test in the foreseeable future, enjoy!
  8. Recently, member @BoRi1976 shared his "handouts" with me, which consists of the following: (Picture of Front Suspension, followed by descriptions) (Picture of Side Engine Compartment, followed by description) (Picture of Rear Engine Compartment, followed by description) (Picture of Coolant Surge Tank Compartment, followed by description) Good luck everyone!!
  9. Me too, and when I tried to apply again, I get an error message stating that I already applied...we'll see what happens as time progresses...
  10. Two reasons: First, if you look at @misslo's profile, you will see that this person was put on medical hold. Therefore, upon making an appointment to have the "medical hold" removed, the member was informed that they (Employment Operations) are currently not hiring off of any TA Civil Service Lists for the "Bus Operator" position. Second, as of this typing (September 30th, 2021, shortly before 9 PM), if you look at the Civil Service List Certification webpage, if you type "Bus Operator" into the search box, you will see that the last certification was issued this past July and expired this past August. In order for them to hire, there needs to be a current "Certification" in effect, in addition to a week or two after the "Certification" expires.
  11. As of this typing, I didn't receive anything about this in my e-mail. If you can keep me, and the rest of us updated, it would be appreciated. Thanks!
  12. If you play around with the Active Civil Service List webpage, you will see that the 9618 list consists of only 2,871 names. The prior list, from Exam 9604, consists of 3,431 names.
  13. Good for you! My final score on the exam was 90, and my list number is in the 700's. What's interesting to note as well is, as I play around with the Active Civil Service List webpage, simply by typing "9618" into the search box, the list only consists of 2,871 people - which is not a lot of people, however we'll see what happens as time progresses.
  14. You're welcome. As far as when the list is published - "I'll believe it when I see it."
  15. As @SevenEleven already stated, if you click here and if you look on the bottom of the second page, you will see that the candidates must take and pass a multiple-choice test. One of the things which I noticed is that the candidates will be required to show their Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or Commerical Learners Permit (CLP) to take the test. In addition, I don't know how they going to start administering the test next month, when the last date of filing is November 30th, 2021, however that's just me.
  16. First of all, as of this typing (Monday, September 21st, 2021 at approximately 8:30 PM), the list has not been published. Therefore, although you got a 95, which is a very good score, neither you or me know how many people scored higher than you, right? As a result, let's wait until the list is officially published, and then we'll take it from there. As far as an age requirement is concerned - if you click here, and you carefully examine the top of the first page, you will see that the minimum age to hold a Class B CDL is eighteen (18) years old. Once you turn 21, then you will be eligible to transport hazardous materials or operate a School Bus. Therefore, they should let you go through with the process.
  17. So this is for MTA Bus Company. As I just applied myself, what's interesting to note is that you have to fill out a questionnaire, which includes whether you have the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or the Commercial Learners Permit (CLP). If you wish to apply, you can click here, and, if you want to read more about the position, which is similar to those Notice of Examinations, you can click here. Good luck!!
  18. It's probably because you are a "new member" since you just joined the site within the past week. I would give it some time, and, after about a month, I would try to send a message or two. If you're still having trouble, let us know and we'll look into it. Things have happened in the past - although it's been a while, we don't want any repeats of any prior incidents - trust me.
  19. The reason why is because the application period starts Monday. I'm just wondering if anybody has any information in regards to this before the application period opens up.
  20. Does anybody know anything about this? I know the application period starts this Monday, September 20th, however I was shocked when I initially saw this. Thanks in advance.
  21. (First of all, I'm not quoting everything you said, primarily to reduce the size of this post and webpage. My apologies if I offended you by doing this.) Although I agree and like what you mentioned, I have a particular question based on what you said: If you look at the Notice of Examinations for 7612, 9604 and 9618 (in which the list will be published "soon" based on these comments), on the second page of the PDF of the Notice of Examinations, all you need to be appointed is either the CDL (Commercial Drivers License) or the CLP (Commercial Learners Permit) along with a primarily clean abstract, with the exception of a single accident, a point or two, etc, in addition to nothing pending whatsoever. Therefore, with the fact that there are currently three [3] lists out for the TA Bus Operator Position, and the list for 9618 will be published "soon," why is this? I don't know about you, however, the way I look at it, with the fact that there are three [3] lists out for the TA Bus Operator Position, this says something to begin with... Good luck with your careers!!
  22. On a serious note, I just sent you a Private Message (PM) in regards to this. If you can send me a reply, I would appreciate it.
