  1. I just sent you a Private Message (PM). If you could send me a reply, I would appreciate it. I hear ya, big time...
  2. According to the middle of the second page of this online PDF document, the "A3" restriction means that you are Exempt from having a Medical Certificate on file with the DMV in Albany. Therefore, the answer to your question is no. Good luck!!
  3. According to this website, in which you can type "Bus Operator" into the search box, from the agency's last certification in July, they were up to the 590's. We'll see what happens when the next certification rolls around...
  4. Offhand, have you considered reaching out to the "higher ups," whose contact information can be viewed here? Hopefully this will do the trick. In addition, I'm going to send you a Private Message (PM) after I'm done with this post. You should see this notification on the top-right hand side of this webpage. Good luck!!
  5. Indeed...I also got the e-mail as well. What a coincidence, right? As far as the three year rule is concerned, this is still mentioned on the top of the second page of the Notice of Examination...sorry... I'm going to let someone else who recently went through this share their feedback, however, in a nutshell, the hiring process consists of the following: 1) Pre-employment Canvass (To make a long story short, they will send you an e-mail asking you to fill out this packet and e-mail it back to them, along with a copy of your license, passport and social security card) 2) Drug Test (this will be done at 180 Livingston Street by appointment only via urine) 3) Medical (click here for a brief overview, just make a notation of how old some of those posts are) 4) Final Processing 5) 10-Day Training Session out of Zerega (click here for an overview) 6) Line Training at respective depot You are allowed to renew your Permit once without taking any of the examinations that you already took. My suggestion to you is to renew your permit, along with air brakes. If you do not have air brakes, you will not be able to proceed. Good luck everyone!!
  6. You're correct, as of now, the list has not been established...when the list is established, you will see it on the website. Until then, you won't see it.
  7. I actually got the e-mail as well, in addition to a letter in the mail from their "Examinations Unit" as well which contained the same thing. From reading what you wrote, I would not be surprised if most of the people on this open-competitive list got this message, with the hope that their "Employment Operations" will be more successful in filling their Bus Operator vacancies. However, we'll see what happens as time progresses.
  8. First of all, welcome to the Forums! Second, to my knowledge, the fact that you had a restriction which was lifted should not be a factor as far as why they turned you away. If anything, this sounds like "discrimination," however that's just me. Therefore, have you tried reaching out to the "higher ups" to try to clarify why you're not moving forward? Finally, as per the guidelines of the website, if you can please post in the relevant forum, which can be viewed here, it would be truly appreciated. Again, welcome to the Forums!!
  9. Between what they sent you and what is in the green announcement box at the top of the webpage, the instructions should be self-explanatory. To make a long story short: If you type "Bus Operator" into the search box of this webpage, you will see that those folks who restored their name to the list for B/O Exam 4600 got first preference, since this list was published first, followed by the folks from B/O Exam 7612, since this list was published next, followed by the person from this examination, before they started calling in sequential order off of this list (594, 595, 596, 597, etc.) Therefore, your name will be placed at the "top of the list" for this list. Just keep in mind that the 4600 list doesn't expire until this January, and the 7612 list doesn't expire until next October, providing they do not extend that list.
  10. Have you considered reaching out to the "higher ups," whose contact information can be viewed here? Hopefully this will do the trick for you. Good luck!!
  11. Have you considered reaching out to the "higher ups," in which I provided the link in the quote below? Good luck!
  12. Have you considered reaching out to the "higher ups," whose contact information can be viewed here? Good luck!!
  13. Approximately two years ago, they did mail out "vague" disqualification letters, also known as "1-in-3" letters, which you can see below. However, with the fact that everything is now done via e-mail, and from following these threads, I haven't heard of the folks at "Employment Operations" mailing any of these ever since they re-opened from the pandemic. Have you considered e-mailing employmentcenter@nyct.com or employmentcenterbuses@nyct.com? Hopefully this will do the trick.
  14. Have you tried reaching out to the Examinations Unit (examsunit@nyct.com)? They should be able to help you. Good luck on the examination!!
  15. If this is the case, then why does the agency require you folks to go for yearly medicals, when the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) require those folks who have a medical certificate to go every 22 to 23 months, providing there are no problems? This part I never understood, even to this date... Back in 2017, somebody posted the name of a medical doctor who conducts sleep apnea without needing a referral or anything to that nature, which can be viewed here. Again, this was posted four [4] years ago, things might have changed since, especially with COVID.
  16. It's called "sleep apnea" and, from what I've learned, there are two ways to see if you have this or not: First, calculate your Body Mass Index. If it's over 35, that's a red flag. If you're on the curious side, just play around with the calculator by playing around with your weight. Second, measure the size of your neck. If it's over 17 inches, that's also a red flag in itself. Third, if you discover that you snore at night, that's also a red flag as well. (There may be more, this is all I can think of at this time.) Just note that even for those who have a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) who have to go for the bi-yearly physical, regardless if you work for Transit or not, they also check for sleep apnea as well by doing both of these things, depending on where you get your physical done. Therefore, it's important to take care of yourself, including watching your weight. (And my apologies for not being online and posting more often, there is a thing that we all know, which is called "life"...)
  17. First of all, from the perspective of the MTA, those defensive driving classes do not count towards point reduction. You will simply have to wait it out. Have you considered reaching out to the "higher ups," whose contact information can be viewed here? Hopefully you'll get in contact with one of these folks. Offhand, do you know the four-digit number of the examination you took? The reason why I ask is because a list is good for four [4] calendar years. Therefore, depending on when the ticket was issued, you might be able to restore your name to the list. As an example: I got into a motor vehicle accident in June of 2014. Although the accident did not come off my physical abstract until the end of the calendar year, starting in July of 2017, nobody could use that accident against me, since it was over three [3] years old. Finally, as you can tell, I moved your topic/thread to the Employment section of the website. This way, others who have more knowledge about this can also contribute to the thread/topic as well.
  18. I moved your topic/thread to the Off Topic Lounge. As per the guidelines, if you can please stay on-topic, it would be appreciated. Thank you.
  19. First of all, welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you on board. Second, have you considered reaching out to the "higher ups," whose contact information can be viewed here? One of the things they are going to do after you submit your paperwork electronically is run your **abstract**. Therefore, if you don't have the proper credentials, you will not be given an appointment, and probably no chance to reschedule until you have the proper credentials. **As far as the abstract is concerned, if you live in New York, you can either have the CDL (Commercial Drivers License) or the CLP (Commercial Learners Permit) with the proper credentials, which are described in detail in the green announcement box at the top of the webpage. If you live in New Jersey, Connecticut or Pennsylvania, you must have your Class B CDL with the proper credentials, in which you will also be required to electronically send a copy of your abstract as well, which must be less than thirty (30) days old.** Good luck!! Is he the Superintendent/Instructor in this and this YouTube video? Just curious...
  20. The initial 10-Day Training Session will be on the Orion buses (4000 series), which can be seen in the videos in this thread/topic.
  21. It's the second column from the left. Just scroll down until the exam number is "09604." Why they use a five-digit code for the exam numbers on that particular website, I don't know. If you initially "fail," the Superintendent/Instructor will tell you which questions you missed and will tell you to simply "try again." When you get a passing score, you will probably and most likely be given a second copy of the same examination to transpose your correct and up to three incorrect questions, and that will do it. If you've ever been 19-A Certified before, it's very similar to what these private bus companies do in order to meet this requirement. If you want to see the examination and/or questions for yourself, click here. If you need help locating these things on the agency's Orion Buses, which primarily consist of the 4000 series, click here. For a School Bus, just play around with YouTube. There's ton of videos on there, especially since this is now a Federal requirement.
  22. First of all, welcome to the Forums! Second, have you considered reaching out to the "higher ups," whose contact information can be viewed here, to find out what's going on? Third, as far as an idea with the list number, if you click here, and you type "Bus Operator" into the search box, you will see that, as of last month, they are in the 590's. In addition, if I am correct, there is a class starting this Sunday, August 15th, at Zerega. Good luck!!
  23. First of all, welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you on board. Second, have you tried reaching out to the "higher ups," whose contact information can be viewed here? Finally, if you're still having trouble figuring out what happened, and if you have proof from your friend that he/she was already called to Livingston Street, send me a Private Message (PM) and we'll take it from there. This feature can be found on the top right-hand corner of the webpage. Good luck!!
